Finished Flight of the Eisenstein. It only took me--*checks logs*--2 months lol. I think it's because Jonathan Keeble does a kind of boring narration. Not bad, just dull. I say not bad because that sort of very slow, level reading is perfect for some situations.
Like it's great to listen to while playing Stardew type games but hard to concentrate on while on the treadmill or doing data entry type stuff.
It's just something for me to keep in mind with future audiobooks.
The book's writing itself is OK. I wasn't blown away by it but it was a decent covering of the events (I've seen some people saying it's their favorite HH or even favorite Warhammer book which idgi but. It's not terrible or anything. So James Swallow hasn't been relegated to the list of Warhammer Authors I Will Never Read Again. I will need to try more books of his before I have a solid impression of him as a writer.)
Nathaniel is the sweetest good boy and Grulgor's hateboner for him was hilarious. Just seething with jealousy and repressed homolust. Srsly Bitch Eating Crackers about Nate.
Grulgor: Look at that bitch over there, being from Terra.
You gotta love a rivalry/enemyship that's completely onesided. Grulgor was basically beneath Nathaniel's notice other than professional requirements. Meanwhile Nate lived in his head rent-free 24/7 lmao.
