“Oh fuck. This is bad, this is very bad.” Ronova mumbled to himself while picking his large body up and off the ground. Wincing at the pain that exploded in his head, he held his head while glancing around to see where Ignatius was. Even at a time like this, his biggest worry was that stupid magician.
Running a shaky hand through his hair, Ronova flinched as he heard an old friends voice echo through the trees. The devilishly sweet voice seemed to be circling both him and his partner that he was trying to protect. Even if you tried to cover your ears, that voice would continue to rattle your eardrums, demanding to be heard. They would not give up.
“My, my Ronova, you sure have grown since the last I saw you.~” The voice purred. The demon only hissed and started to turn in circles trying to find where exactly his opponent was. “You’ve become so much stronger yet you still lack your intelligent.”
“Quite!” The spider demon’s deep voice bellowed back into the nothingness of the forest.
“Tell me, Ronova, why are you so close with this pathetic human?” The sweet voice turned to venom as it spoke of the slightly trembling male who sat on the ground looking very bewildered. He had no idea what was going on. He was completely in the dark.
“Because he’s my contractor.” His response was short but not sweet. He wanted to sink his teeth into the bastard who spoke to him in such a tone. When he left Hell he thought he’d never have to hear that voice again, but here they are.
“Ah yes, but I have been watching you. I know that you have had multiple chances to take the humans soul already.” A sickening laugh traveled through the night air. “The poor human doesn’t even know what you’re doing to him. He would have long received his wish if you didn’t go tampering with his memories like you always do.”
“YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP!” Ronova raged, his eyes turning a shade darker as his teeth began to grow ever so slightly. His high seemed to increase a little as well but he soon froze up when he heard a weak voice call out from behind him.
“Ronova? What are they talking about?” Slowly turning his head in the direction of Ignatius, Ronova only could stare at the magician instead of giving a response.
“Oh this is delicious, he has no idea!” The voice rang out in laughter again. “He’s taking away your memories, honey. You didn’t read the fine print of your contract. Not only goes Ronova get to look through your memories, he can add and take away memories as well!”
“Don’t listen to them, Ignatius. That was not part of the deal..”
“Oh but it was! Tell me, human, have you ever felt like you were so close to finding your mother, but then all of a sudden, you forgot everything you were doing and you just accepted to start over again? Or had the split thought of giving up on your mother?” Ignatius’s voice was frail as his eyes darted towards the ground thinking back to the previous time he has spent with Ronova.
“Yes..I have had moments like that.” Ignatius quickly shot his head up and looked over to the spider demon, his magenta eyes boring into Ronova’s red ones.
“Is it true that you have been messing with my memories?” It hurt Ronova hearing his friend’s voice crack and waver the way it did. He could sense the hurt radiating off the one he wished to always stay happy and true.. It hurt so much more than it should have. The demon’s voice was gone and he could not speak up. He could not confess his wrong doings.
“He has. He has messed with them so many times I’ve lost count. He has also lied to you. He knows where your mother is and he knew it from the very beginning! How could you trust someone like him now? A demon? How did you even trust him in the first place?” That fucking voice was sounding much closer and a lot more excited then before.
“..I-I don’t think I ever have..” Now that stung. Ronova stared at Ignatius with wide eyes. He didn’t even try to hide the hurt expression that was contorting on his features. It shouldn’t have been a surprise that his companion didn’t trust him but they had become so close.. His heart was aching.
“Well, honey, leave that demon behind. Come to me, I’ll bring you straight to your mommy. She’s waiting for you. She misses you.
“I-I miss her, too..” A shadowy figure started to approach Ignatius from behind. Ronova took notice of the shadowy figure and squinted to have a better look at their shimmering appearance but his eyes shot open in horror as he watched the being lift up their hand which held something very, very sharp.
“No!” Ronova’s body moved in an instant. In a second his body was covering Ignatius and the object came down upon him instead.
An excruciating pain flew throughout his body. Eyes wide in fright, Ronova look to his right side and had to fight back a yell after seeing what had happened.
His whole right arm was gone.
