I have loved you for a thousand years.
Lifetimes blurred together.
Do you regret it? A voice whispers as he looks into those eyes. “Yes,” is always the same answer, yet deep down -
Never.
Forever begins to feel like home at some point. So much faith in the beginning of this, hope, innocence on both sides -
Naivety. Ignorance was bliss, and he wished to go back to those days, to that time when they’d been so hopeful and foolish. To destroy it, to cherish it, he was never truly sure. The constant of that man was slowly fading with lifetimes, but..
He waited. A thousand lifetimes, years, and in many, Madara never showed up. Died young, never born, and Minato knew he could end this at any time. He doesn’t hope anymore, lies expects nothing, always does, is always crushed yet..
“Who are you?” Those eyes are curious, yet guarded.
“No one.” And he stays, takes what he can get because he’s waited this long. Time stands still at times, yet he still waits.
A thousand years pass. And Minato will wait a thousand more, if need be, to find the one in which they both belong. And he’ll die a thousand times, if only to see him again.
No matter what it takes.
I’ll love you for a thousand more.
