She smiled at Ignis as she opened the door for him. She was just passing by in the entrance hall as the bell rang. Nunnally liked him. He was a rather frequent guest at the manor; obviously working with her father, but she did not know the details. She had accepted it long ago that there were things that she was not allowed to know, and she was not trying to change it anymore.
“I did not know you were coming.” – she greeted him in a slight surprise; she was wearing a simple flowery dress and her long blond hair was falling loose on her back, still slightly wet. Rather unusual outfit for her. When they were meeting before, even in this house, Nunnally was usually dressed more formally – “Please do excuse my rather…casual look.” – she felt the necessity to explain herself before leading him inside to the living room that was more than familiar to him.
“The usual?” – she asked pouring him a glass of his preferred drink not really waiting for the confirmation – “My father is out. At the meeting. He is not expected home for another hour. Or two.” - she said pouring herself a glass of white wine.
That was an unexpected situation. Nunnally knew Ignis was important. The business with him was important, and whenever he visited, some additional efforts were always undertaken. Nunnally was always expected to be home, ready to be called upon if needed. So, Ignis's visit was surprising. Least to say. Almost awkward. She laughed trying to make a situation lighter, more relaxed at least for her. And then she said the first thing that came to her mind: --
“Unless this time you came to visit me…” – (“Gosh! You are flirting with him, Nunnally. That would make your father furious…” ) – little did she know...
"I am sorry. I should not have."
