Topic: Ignis and their species

Species and planet as a whole
Ignis is from the planet Ucarro in the Gamma quadrant of the Black Eye Galaxy. It is home to humanoid species (Vektix) that resemble earth foxes but with an extra set of arms and a 3rd eye. Evolution wise, the 2nd set of arms were used as a way to demonstrate strength to find mates(bird reasoning) but weren't very practical outside of that. The arms could only be lifted up to 60 degrees at max and even then they couldn't do much. As they evolved to a higher intelligence, the species learned that the extra set of limbs had some helpful aspects to it. Through the centuries more muscles, tendons, and bones grew in place to make the arms act exactly like the upper portion. The arms have a 2nd set of shoulder blades underneath the first set.
The 3rd eye has an evolutionary advantage. The 3rd eye on the forehead is there to let them see into a more low light areas. It essentially acts like Darkvision from DnD and is the only eye that has it. It also is detailed in motion tracking but that is all. The downsides to the 3rd eye is that in bright daylight it is not helpful. During very sunny days they often close the 3rd eye as it is not helpful to have open.
Lastly, the species has a split open mouth and paralyzing bite. The mouth is split into 3 parts where when its closed it looks like a usual muzzle but open the sides of the mouth act like mandibles that can be moved. It doesn't affect them so much but early evolution they were fighting some creatures that were easy to run away. Its a short acting paralytic agent and they cant use it too often without having to wait some time for the venom to regenerate.
Ucarro is very similar to earth in having many different types of climates and regions. This has allowed many different types of Vektix subspecies to evolve there (similar to the Hominidae family classification) . Cultural aspects of each one is dependent on the subspecies of Vektix. Some prefer the traditional aspects of strength while others promote closer to intelligence to show off to potential partners.
Ignis overview and backstory
Ignis is a Vektix that goes by they/them pronouns. They are a part of the Vektix Zedre subspecies (Desert foxes). They are around 3 ft tall but built for strength. Their weapons of choice are polearms, hammers, and throwing knives. Will use guns if needed but not their favorite.
Ignis grew up in a family of tradesfolk. Father was a weaponsmith while mother was an astronomer. Both positions were held in high regard as weaponsmiths were hard to come by as others were pushing more towards a more peaceful society and astronomers were needed for the aspect of space travel. Ignis took up their Father's trade and started to learn weaponsmithing at a young age (not actually forging but more so the different metals). Things stayed like that for a while with Ignis slowly learning more. However, when Ignis was in their mid-teen years, some nations of Ucarro made contact with another species. This species was a hostile race and took over Ucarro as a way to strip it of their resources. Ignis was able to escape the planet after sneaking away on a ship.
Ignis, now in space, hopped from planet to planet, spaceship to spaceship until they ended up in Andromeda and ended up being found as a stowaway. In return for not being thrown off the ship they became the weapon expert and thus started their mercenary journey. Over the course of a decade they refined their skills and were able to move up in mercenary groups. They met Rocket while in one of these groups when Rocket was running duo. Eventually they went solo after they lost their eye, leaving them having trouble seeing even with the robo eye. They stayed solo for a while before just giving up on being a mercenary and retiring to a planet to get back into weapon smithing.
Rocket Raccoon - Husband (used to be separated). Met Rocket when Rocket was dating Otta and developed feelings for him but didn't recognize those feelings until after Rocket and them signed a unity marriage contract. Knew it would be best to not pursue the feelings as Rocket was in the bad place. Agreed to be separated after a massive argument with Rocket after a mission gone wrong (somethings were said). Reunited with Rocket years after when Rocket has mostly calmed down. Slowly rebuilt their relationship until they both decided to actually call eachother lovers

Ryker Ussari - Friend. Medic that travels the galaxy with her crew that Ignis was shortly a part of as bodyguard duty. Became friends with her and usually meets with her when she lands on the planet they live on.
Knowhere Armorers - Knowhere guild that Ignis is a part of. One of the more unknown guilds but if you need something they're the best of the best you can get on this side of the galaxy. Ignis goes to knowhere when they have weapons they gotta sell. They'll sell their more faulty products at lower price.

Ignis' go to music is country and folk
Used to be very flexible when younger with their fighting style going after fast blows. Less flexible now as their fighting style has changed to heavy blows.
