Anddd, another day down! Wow, this day really rugby tackled me out of my comfort zone. Don't really know where in the prompt "Ignite", I decided to draw an entire landscape. But, here we are 😅

I will say that the finished piece isn't my best work, but I've learned another skill. Knowing when to say "good enough". Eh, I haven't really learned the difference between pushing myself and being overly ambitious. Well, it was a learning curve anyway.

Set the Night on Fire

you set this in motion

ignited the spark . . .

dispelled life's darkness

and i know you're gone

but I can't move on . . .

every remembrance of dawn

wobbly-legged as a newborn fawn

embers of so many septembers

when we fell into fall

hitting the ground softly

scattered, colorful leaves adrift

a candle in the wind,

candle in the window

throwing light and warmth

we too were one

rising to set like the sun

we thought we'd never

come undone

our time was a banquet

a table for bountiful living

a place for sharing and giving

fact or friction

you always rubbed me

the right way

I knew you held the match

so i supplied the kindling

the fire was always ours

we never needed permission

to burn, to set the night on fire
