Noctober #4 - Good Morning
Dawnspecs: Well, this was an interesting predicament, to say the least.
Ayyyyyy! This is probably one of my faves I’ve written lately so I hope you like it as well!
Word count: 1349
Well, this was an interesting predicament to say the least.Of all the things Prompto had expected from this three-way relationship, hewished he had had the foresight to know that he would be indescribably jealousthe first time he found Ignis and Noctis alone together. If he were beingrational, it wasn’t all that bad – just dancing. That’s all it was. Therewasn’t any reason for him to be so upset. He knew from Noctis mentioning it inthe past that he and Ignis would occasionally use ballroom dancing as a trustand synchronization exercise. This was nothing but training for them.
And yet Prompto felt his hands tremble and his stomach lurchas he watched in secret from the double doors. He tried to convince himselfthat there was a good reason that the lights were dimmed, that Ignis’s handswere supposed to be that low on Noctis’s hips. Each step was flawless, so muchso that Prompto toyed with the idea that there was no way that could be thereal Noctis. There was so much grace and precision; every twirl and dipdeliberate.
The dancing, Prompto realized after a minute, wasn’t theissue, at least not entirely. He had to be somewhat reasonable – Noctis andIgnis had been doing this for years. It made sense that their bodies were usedto each other, that they would have natural chemistry, and for all Prompto knewit could help them in a battle if they ever needed it. But it wasn’t that thatgot him riled up and froze his eyes in place despite desperately screaming athimself to look away.
It was the subtleties that only someone who had been in themiddle of them in varying states of passion before would notice. It was the wayIgnis’s fingertips grazed the small of Noctis’s back in such a way that madehim arch. It was the way Noctis gasped as their lips came within a breath awayfrom one another and the struggle in his bones to not simply close the distancefor a lingering kiss. What stung the most, though, was the way they looked intoone another’s eyes as though they were the only people in the world and smiledas their chests heaved and fingers entwined.
That was too much.
The doors slammed shut behind Prompto and his feet carriedhim as fast as they could across the marble floors, narrowly dodging glaives, guards, and maids in his path. Several of them yelled after him to slow downand others gasped as the jumped out of his way, and although he felt a pang ofguilt of causing a scene in the Citadel, he would face the repercussions later. For now, he just wanted to get as far away from everything as he could.
He had made it through the front doors and down the stairsbefore he was stopped. Slender fingers caught his wrist and halted him andforced him around, and Prompto gasped when he came face-to-face with Ignis.Beads of sweat rolled down his neck and temple, and his glasses had slidhalfway down the bridge of his nose, but there was concern in his eyes.
“Whatever is the matter?” Ignis’s voice was soft and cleardespite having apparently chased him through the Citadel, and Prompto frowned, tugging on his hold. He didn’t want to have to explain himself.
“Why did you run?”
Prompto whirled to find Noctis had somehow managed to getahead of him and he leaned on his knees, trying to catch his breath. He, too, sounded concerned, and once he took several long breaths, he righted himselfand closed the gap between them, his hand resting discreetly on his hip. Panicsurged through Prompto’s veins and he whipped his head from Noctis to Ignis, then back.
He was trapped.
“I…” He began, but he couldn’t find the right words, and hecould feel the pressure of an expected answer rising. Again, his stomachlurched and he blinked his eyes, forcing himself not to cry. Besides, he shouldhave known that this was going to happen eventually. They were going to realizethat they were better off without him, and he would be alone again.
“Hey,” Noctis’s smile was calm, understanding, and he gavePrompto’s other hand a light squeeze. “It’s okay.”
“Let us find somewhere a bit more private,” Ignis said overhis shoulder, and Noctis nodded. After a moment of silence, so did Prompto, andhe let Noctis hold his hand as Ignis led them to a secluded near the secondgarden entrance. It was quiet, which Prompto appreciated. His head was alreadyloud enough without the added hustle and bustle that was the norm for Insomniaon a Wednesday night.
Noctis led him to sit on a short stone wall encasing a tallwillow tree and some pretty purple flowers that Prompto made a mental note toask about later before propping himself up on the dirt behind him. He gave himspace, but was still close enough that if Prompto had wanted, he could easilyfall back against him, and Ignis, after making sure they were hidden enoughfrom any eyes that might pry, kneeled in front of him, taking both of his handsin his.
“Now, would you care to explain what that was all about?”The tone of his voice made Prompto feel small, and he heard Noctis scoff behindhim.
“The hell, Specs? He didn’t do anything wrong. Don’t make itsound like he’s in trouble.”
“It’s okay,” Prompto interjected, and he squeezed Ignis’shands and indeed fall back into Noctis’s chest, allowing the prince to run hishands through his hair. “I saw the two of you dancing. I know I shouldn’t havegotten jealous, but I just…” Uncertainty bubbled within him and he released ashaky sigh. “You looked so happy together.”
“We are,” Ignis said quickly and affirmatively, and for asplit second Prompto thought that this was going to be it. Ignis was going totell him exactly what he had feared.
“But you make us happy, too,” Noctis added quietly,“and we all have our activities that we do without one or the other.”
Prompto nodded after a moment. It was true; he and Noctishad their video game nights, and there were nights where he and Ignis wouldcook together, so it was only fair that Noctis and Ignis had something thatthey shared together.
“I’m sorry,” he mumbled, suddenly feeling small and stupidfor being such a child.
“You have no reason to apologize, Prompto.” Ignis smiled andkissed his hands. “I’m personally flattered that you were jealous enough toreact so strongly. It shows us how much we mean to you.” A blush crept ontoPrompto’s cheeks and he tried adverting his gaze, but to no avail. Who was heto deny that he loved the both of them so wholly?
“And you mean the world to us, Prompto.” Noctis kissed hisforehead and wrapped his arms around his shoulders. “Besides, just say the wordand Specs would happily teach you how to dance. He thinks I’m an awfulpartner.”
“Come now, I never said that. I merely said you were an easypartner. It would be nice to feel another body that intimately.” Ignis smirked, and Prompto would have sworn he saw him wink as well.
“S-seriously?!”
“Most definitely,” the advisor assured, and he stood, pulling Prompto up with him and away from Noctis’s arms. Swiftly, Ignis dippedhim and caught him in a heated kiss that the blond found himself melting into. Withwhat rational though he had left he reached out for Noctis, who took jumpeddown from the wall and took his hand. When Ignis set him up right again,Prompto kissed their prince and wrapped himself in both of their arms.
Of all the things he had expected with this three-wayrelationship, Prompto hadn’t expected to fall so deeply in love that there wasno way for him to completely exist without one or the other.

I COULDN'T HELP MYSELF. Here's the selfie from my story Test of Will.
A Test of Will (IgNoctProm)
The first of my Tumblr suggestions! This one was super fun and silly to write. Prompt from the ever amazing @thatkanragirl ! Ignis having a hard time controlling himself while Noct and Prom are being stupidly cute. I’ve never written this combination before, but I certainly had fun doing it!
Pairing: IgNoctProm (DawnSpecs)
Word Count: 1060
Rating: T (For very tame allusions to sexual content)

This was entirely unfair. Everything about this situation tested his limits. If he didn’t know better, Ignis Scientia would say someone or something was testing him. The test du jour had to be willpower. It was the only thing that made sense. Unless his problem was less otherworldly, more corporeal. His bratty companions certainly had it in them to plot his discomfort. They had done it before, and they would most certainly do it again.
“Noct! Dude, c’mere!” called Prompto, grinning as he bounced on the balls of his feet. He waved, beckoning them over to another storefront of the cacophonous shopping arcade.
Ignis followed along behind the prince, quiet and watchful. He felt a bit like a babysitter on this outing, but he was enjoying himself none-the-less. Watching Noctis and Prompto have fun was always a great source of entertainment. Though something felt off about it today. The boys seemed a little too silly, a little too giddy.
“Prom, why are you looking at hats? You don’t even wear hats, dork,” Noct said, poking through a display of ball caps.
“Not for me! I found one for you!” A bright smile made his eyes twinkle playfully.
“What? But—!”
Prompto cut the man off by slapping a hat on his head and yanking it down over his ears. Stepping back to admire his handiwork, he beamed.
Ignis nearly choked on his tongue at the sight.
Pouting, Noctis raised his head and looked from Prompto to Ignis. Atop his head, tugged low over his ears, was a black, chunky cable-knit beanie with two triangular protrusions. Prompto had adorned the future King of Lucis with a cat hat.
One hand shoved deep in the pocket of his oversized purple hoodie, Noctis reached up with the other hand to feel a knitted ear. He scrunched up his nose. “Really? C’mon…”
“It suits you! Doesn’t it, Iggy?”
It certainly did, but Ignis wasn’t sure he would be able to voice his opinion. Lucky for him, he was spared the chance when Noctis pulled out another hat and slapped it on Prompto’s head.
Seeing his reflection in the nearby mirror, air rushed from Prompto’s lungs in a laugh. “Aw, dude! Lame!”
“It’s not so bad,” replied Noct, smirking as he eyed the giant foam fish now perching on Prompto’s head. “Since I’m apparently a cat, it’s only fitting you get to be my favorite thing to eat.”
A few passing patrons made faces at the pair, some stopping to do a double-take when a squeak erupted from the blond. His cheeks flushed and his lips parted.
Noctis was blushing as well when he continued. “Though the fish doesn’t really suit you,” he said, sorting through a bin of costume hats. “I think this one works much better.”
Crossing his arms, Ignis continued to watch silently as Noctis pulled the fish hat off Prompto’s head and replaced it with a bright yellow ball cap. The bill of the cap was orange, two black circles—eyes—were painted on the front, and the sides sported fluffy wings made of fake feathers.
“Hey, I’m a chocobo!” laughed Prompto.
“Cutest one around,” Noctis informed him, tweaking his nose.
The pair turned toward Ignis. “What do you think?”
“I think you’re drawing a lot of attention to yourselves,” he replied, managing to keep his expression neutral. His heart thumped in his chest, and his fingers twitched to hold the teenagers before them. The urge to kiss them both silly was strong. He didn’t know why he did this to himself. He knew giving Noctis and Prompto free reign led to their ridiculous antics. They were teenagers after all. And even when they were infuriating, they were cute beyond words. Sometimes they knew exactly what they were doing, sometimes they didn’t. Ignis suspected today was a case of the former.
“Iggy, come here a sec. I wanna take a selfie with our sweet new headgear!”
Ignis hesitated. The only reason he was able to contain himself at the moment was because he stood out of arms’ reach of the two most sickeningly adorable men on all of Eos.
“C’mon, Specs. It’ll make Prompto happy.”
“One photo, then we stop making spectacles of ourselves. Yes?”
Prompto rolled his eyes. “Fine.”
Ignis approached the pair, focusing on his breathing as Noctis hooked an arm around his neck and Prompto slipped an arm around his waist. They leaned in close as Prompto held his phone out. They squeezed together to get in the frame.
“Okay, on three! One, two…”
Before Prompto reached three, the boys turned and kissed Ignis’ cheeks. His eyes shot wide, and the shutter sound effect of Prompto’s phone camera filled his ears.
“Oh, man! That turned out amazingly!” laughed Prompto, admiring the image on his screen as he pulled away from Ignis.
“Lemme see,” Noctis muttered, cheeks red.
As Prompto showed off the picture, Ignis recovered from his shock. Clenching his teeth, he snatched the hats off their heads and tossed them back in the bin before taking Prompto’s phone out of his hand.
“Hey! What the heck, Iggy?” Prompto’s brow furrowed as Ignis stuffed the phone deep in his coat pocket.
“Because neither of you can control yourselves in public, we’re going home. Now.”
Noctis frowned, about to give Ignis his opinion, but he stopped before the first word even left his lips. His eyebrows disappeared behind his bangs.
“What? What is it?” Prompto glanced from Noctis to Ignis.
“Iggy’s blushing.”
Clearing his throat, Ignis adjusted his glasses. “You’re imagining things, Highness.”
A slow grin blossomed on Noctis’ face. “No way!” he laughed. “You don’t wanna go home because we’re misbehaving…”
The blush deepened.
“You want to go home because you can’t kiss us in public.”
The irritation vanished from Prompto’s face. “Oh!” he sang, grinning as well.
“It would behoove you to keep your voices down,” Ignis grumbled through clenched teeth.
Noctis snorted.
“Hey, Noct?” Prompto whispered, keeping his eyes on Ignis. “How worked up do you think we can get him before we get back to your apartment?”
The pair stared at Ignis, matching mischievous grins on their faces.
Ignis sighed. Next time these two suggested an outing, he’d make sure to send Gladio in his stead. His normally endless willpower didn’t stand a chance against the combined forces of Prompto Argentum and Noctis Lucis Caelum.
Ooooh prompt things!! Okay okay. DawnSpecs + "You'll never be the same now."
Okay! So I haven’t attempted to write anything ot3 for a long time but here we go, because they are my faves and I love them and also this is a great prompt and you are great so I hope I do your lovely prompt justice! Thank you so much for sending it!
Ignis/Noctis/Prompto; 672w, G
In the space between heartbeats, Prompto learns how much canchange. That’s all it takes. Ba-dum;everything’s normal. Ba-dum;everything has changed. He doesn’t really understand what’shappening, not properly, but he can feel as the cogs of his veryuniverse start to shift, turn and change, just a little. He’sat Noct’s apartment, all but snuggled up against his best friend onthe couch. And somehow, though Prompto doesn’t know how, he’s managedto convince Ignis to stop attempting to tidy Noctis’ mess, and jointhem on the couch for a movie. It’s a surprise to Prompto when Ignispauses to consider, before he sighs out an agreement – as if he’sdoing it to please Prompto – and sits down on Prompto’s other side.Noctis seems unfazed by the entire thing, as if Ignis’ coming orgoing is nothing to him. Prompto doesn’t see, though, as Noctis’ gazefollows Ignis’ motions. And there they sit, a comfortable pileon the couch. Well, Prompto and Noctis are the comfortable pile,Ignis is against the corner, as if he can’t even bring himself to getcomfortable. It takes a little cajoling from Prompto, but eventually,Ignis allows himself to relax, settle himself against the couch, andenjoy the movie. It’s fun, Prompto thinks at first, and hedecides he’ll try to make Ignis hang out more often, it’d be good forhim to let himself relax and have fun more sometimes. But somehow,Prompto finds his thoughts wondering from the movie. Noctis is acomfortable weight beside him, and somewhere along the way, Ignis haswound up closer on Prompto’s other side. He’s sandwiched betweenthem, and now that he’s noticed, the atmosphere feels different, strange. There’s a weight to it, and a wait to it as well, he thinks,as if the air in the room is holding it’s breath. He feels Ignis, tense beside him, their shoulders pressed together. He feels Noct onhis other side, trying to feign nonchalance. He doesn’t see the lookthat Ignis and Noctis share, briefly, but he almost feels thequestion that hangs between them.It hits Prompto then, thatwhatever this was was probably building the entire time they’ve beenwatching the movie, and he was the only one to be paying any kind ofattention at all. He feels stupid, and a little stunned. Heglances over at Noctis, who is firmly still pretending to be watchingthe movie. Then he glances over at Ignis, who briefly meets his gaze.Prompto’s heart starts to pound fiercely, when he feels anarm drape around his shoulder, feels fingers against the back of hisneck. He swallows thickly, when he feels Ignis press a hand to theinside of Prompto’s elbow. Innocent touches, the both of them, butPrompto can feel the extra meaning hidden just beneath the surface. He’s not sure when this might have started, maybe it’s somethingIgnis and Noctis have been feeling for some time now, maybe Prompto’slate in catching up with things. He doesn’t know. His heartbeats heavily inside his chest. Is this a good idea? Is he readingtoo much into things? Could it even work out?He takes a deepbreath, as he ponders these thoughts between each beat of his heart. He does know, though. He’s never been one to shy away from achallenge, always keen to prove himself. “Are you alright,Prompto?” Ignis questions, quietly, concerned by how still andquiet he’s become suddenly. Prompto looks between the both ofthem, and nods. “Yeah, I’m good.”Ba-dum.He reaches a hand out towards Noctis.Ba-dum.His other reaches for Ignis.Ba-dum.He feels as they each take hold of his hands.Ba-dum.The cogs rotate, and everythingshifts and turns and changes.Ba-dum.Within those spaces between, Prompto knows things might neverbe the same. But he feels the warmth from Ignis’ fingers, wrappedaround his own; feels the tense nervousness in Noctis’ palm. He’swilling, he thinks, to see what changes.
(send me a prompt if you want!)
For your 5 sentence thing, will you also do OT3?
Anon-chan! How enticing!
I’m not usually on board with threesomes tbh. It has to be extremely specific. For instance, if I did write a threesome for FFXV (I’m assuming that’s the fandom you’re referring to), then it’s Ignis/Noctis/Prompto (or any variation thereof) or bust.
So if that’s the OT3 you’re looking for, then yes. I will 1000% write it. Otherwise I am afraid I can’t help you out.
