YES THEY HAVE FIXED THE BLOCK OPTION!!

if you block someone now and they were following you, they automatically unfollow your account

you have to go back and reblock them for it to take effect though

Dear tumblr, When I ignore a user, I ignore them for a reason. Not to see them on my dash still through other people. MySpace had it so much better, and even facebook does; if you blocked a person, it was as if your account was completely invisible to them. Instead of trying to regulate the graphic violence and explicit posts why don't you think outside this box and go, Oh maybe we should just upgrade our privacy settings? Critcal. Thinking. Skills. - A tumblr user who is so sick of getting the shit end of the stick.

If you're bothered by something you see/read on my Tumblr, use the Ignore User option. It's there for a reason, you know.

Seriously, how could I have missed this option? 

I did not known about this. I got curious awhile ago if there's any way to hide some bloggers' posts. This changes everything. 

I have a bad feeling I'm going to be popular in this section of my followers because of all the random shits I post.

I saw the ask about using the ignore function & I thought I'd say another option might be tumblr savioring usernames if you don't care if the person still follows you. If you don't want people to be able to interact with you at all, then yeah ignore is essentially tumblr's block button. But savior can be great if you've unfollowed but don't care if they still follow you. I've exercised that choice A LOT so far this season.

TS stopped working for me months ago, but I do use XKit's Blacklist. Maybe that works on user names, too? I'll have to check it out. Ignore is just so easy, because you just click the little whatever-symbol-they're-using-for-it-this-week.

I may have abused it a little.
