I’ve probably started a letter to a thousand times, but have never finished it. I first started watching Supernatural in June of 2012, because let’s be honest, you can’t be on tumblr for too long in the fandom side of it without seeing a million gifs of the show. I pretty much fell in love instantly with the show. But when I got to season four (an embarrassing four weeks later….) and met your character, what supernatural meant for me, changed.
For pretty much all of my life I have felt awkward, I have felt alone and all together like I have not belonged. I am weird, I obsess too much, I talk far too much about things no one else but me normally even care about. We are always a worst critic and I am certainly no expectation to this. When I first got into the Supernatural fandom and started looking up panels on youtube I was instantly drawn to all of your panels. It’s a bit embarrassing how many times I’ve watched them.
You are an inspiration, Misha. You are my idol, and hero. You inspire me all the time to be a better person. I credit a bunch of different things in the roles played on saving my life, and giving me hope to keep going on, and supernatural, is one of them. But more than that, you are one of them. When I’m super upset and just ready to give up it is Castiel centric episodes I turn to, it is your panels I go to first to be cheered up. To remind myself that I can and will get through this.
It is you that reminds me it is perfectly acceptable to weird, and to embrace that crazy side of me. Who wants to be normal anyways when being weird is so much fun?
Finding Supernatural, finding GISHWHES, finding your charity random acts and most importantly finding you, has been such a key role into saving me, and changing me for the better.
Thank you Misha,
I, along with so many others, love you.
