☑ || What are the biggest differences between you & your muse?
I mean, where do I even START, really? It’s safe to say we all draw from ourselves here and there when writing, but Octavia’s been a delightfully different personality type for me. For one, she’s incredibly driven and ambitious, whereas I’m pretty laid back. She also has this aggressive streak that’s not at all me, and damn if that girl can’t nurse a grudge like it’s nobody’s business under the right wrong circumstances.
☮ || Is there anything you don’t like about playing this muse?
It’s not really something about playing Octavia in particular, but the community can definitely be a little stressful at times. It seems I have a lot of…shall we say, dissenting opinions where popular ships and fanon are concerned, and it sometimes feels like I can’t toss a dang pebble into the pond without somebody taking personal offense. Like I wanna offer to lend them some of my chill because it must be exhausting. Calm down, lil buddies. Drink some tea. Eat a Snickers. Not every contradictory opinion is an attack on your personal integrity.
♋ || What drew you to this muse?
Octavia’s kind of a mixture of all my favorite muse types. She’s a fighter and a warrior who knows where she stands and what she stands for, but she’s also compassionate and KIND and she cares so deeply for the people around her. Plus, she has a wealth of troubles in her past that need exploring and that’s always a fascinating adventure with any muse. Basically, I love Octavia for everything she is and everything she is not, and I wanted to dive in and see what I could find that maybe the showrunners haven’t outwardly given us onscreen.
