It had taken a couple days, but Lance finally got the stench of his mother off of him. He had regained all his progress from therapy again, he was seeing Dinah regularly again, he was taking care of himself again- he was much happier now. He even got a bigger pride flag just to spite her, even though she’d never see it.
What was even funnier was, now that Kathy got a piece of his mind, he gave the press an even bigger piece. He was purposefully and unapologetically bi on social media- Freddie Mercury and David Bowie type bi. TMZ hated it, but his followers and students were so proud of him!
He had also finally cut all ties with Kathy. He blocked her IP address so she couldn’t email him, blocked her number, and blocked her on all social media. Kathy was nothing but a bad memory now. He hadn’t thrown away pictures, mainly because many of the photos of Kathy in them were his cute baby pictures. So you both opted to scribble out her face in every photo. It was a fun mental cleanse/ couples bonding activity.
“Here you go, darling,” you grinned, setting a plate of sausage and eggs in front of him as you kissed into his hair.
He grinned the cutest little smile, immediately digging in, like a toddler with chocolate birthday cake. “Thank you,” he said through his third mouthful.
“Hungry?” you chuckled, grabbing the morning paper to read the editorial, “you’ve already eaten two bowls of fruit already,”
“Just nervous… and hungry,” he shrugged
“Nervous for what?” you asked. There was no tournament? Was there a talent exhibition one of the girls was in? You didn’t think so.
“Just… things… busy gymnast life, y’know?” he said, awkwardly sipping at his apple juice
You just shrugged and rolled your eyes playfully. “You’re cute, but you’re not good at keeping secrets.
He gave you a quizzical look as he ate another sausage link, “se...crets?” he questioned.
“You left the ring box on the bathroom counter,” you chuckled
Lance searched his pockets to see if she was right. Joke’s on him, you’re always right. “Damnit,” he sighed, “it was supposed to be a surprise…”.
“It was a surprise,” you grinned leaning over the table to kiss his nose, “no girl expects to see a two karat diamond ring sitting in the bathroom when she’s trying to take a wiz,”.
He laughed. “Should I go get it?” he flushed, very embarrassed.
“Doesn’t really matter, I’m already wearing it and my answer is already ‘hell yes’” you smirked, showing off your decorated left hand.
Lance just cupped your face and kissed you. “You’ve made me into a better man…” he whispered, leaning his forehead against yours.
“That progress was all you, sweetheart, I only gave you a push,” you replied, booping his nose, making his face adorably scrunch up.
“Well you inspired me to be good- the only truly positive force on my life,” he grinned, “I love you,”
