Favourite "midrange" Maldives resorts

Note: (By "midrange" I referring to Maldives standards, which is very very high). These resorts are still very expensive (between €2,000-5,000 per person including flights from the UK). Prices in the Maldives drop substantially in low season but you do take a risk weather wise. High season/perfect weather = December to April. (Beware of May = short monsoon season)

Constance Moofushi : This luxury all inclusive give you peace of mind that you can calculate your final holiday price and avoid getting ripped off on a desert island. The location is one of the most spectacular lagoons in the Maldives and the accomodation is beautiful.

Olhuveli Beach and Spa Resort : This resort is located on one of the largest lagoons in the Maldives. It is close to the the international airport so it wont take long to get to this island after a long flight. An all-inclusive package is available if you want to keep an eye on costs. There is a focus on watersports at this resort and it is home the first kitesurfing school in the Maldives.

Angsana Ihuru : Ihuru is one of the most perfectly spherical islands in the Maldives. Its major claim to fame is its unbeatable house reef, so snorkellers and divers will love it here. It is reached by speedboat and is close to the airport.

Mirihi : This island has admittedly got more expensive in the last 3 years as it has got very popular among Maldive-enthusiasts. Its a tiny island, with an fantastic house reef and talc soft sand.
