When I met Ranveer. TWICE...
I was at the iifa Expo when I got that notification from that one twitter account. It read "Arrival Update Ranveer Singh at 14:14" my heart SUNK! There I was in the middle of the Expo gasping for air. My mom looked at me like I was crazy then asked "WHAT!". With a smirk I said "Ranveer Singh. Airport. 14:14." Poor mom had to count to know what hour that was.. then again I was the same cus really we don't count like that here haha we just say AM or PM. So we're off frantically looking for my dad walking past the gorgeous dresses they had displayed & that indian food that smelled so good. Finally found dad & told him but we had a while till Ranveer was arriving. So, we decided to stay for the iifa Expo fashion show, nobody famous was there but I did have a samosa which was the best ever! Ugh, anywho the fashion show was delayed for ANOTHER HOUR! Unbelievable, I grew impatient & said "Mom, dad, screw this let's go!" So off we went on a what was supposed to be a 15 minute drive turned into roughly 20 or 25 but luckily we left really early. There we were making our way up to the 9th level of the parking garage where they had set up a tent but the first 150 people got a band to go into the gated part. Which sucked but we could still stand outside the gate. We made it in time and we just tried to get a good spot to catch a glimpse at him.
Then there were the cars that drove into the 9th level! OMG! HE WAS COMING! But we couldn't see a thing people had signs & it was so sunny you couldn't really see into the tent or canvas, i don't know what they call it yaar. So mom & I are standing on the gates trying to see but nothing. Dad trying to focus the camera on him but couldn't get anything. Then something just happened. HE WAS COMING OVER TO THE OTHER SIDE TO SEE THE FANS! Which hadn't been done by any other celeb that arrived for what we were told! My heart is beating, I'm getting crushed by a grown ass man, like omg then a girl was next to me & she stood between my father & me. Then her mother was between my mother & me. The cops surrounding him people on the inside of the gate trying to get to him. But there he was against our gate saying Hi to everyone he could. Then that fateful moment I grabbed his wrists YES HIS WRISTS! Then I pulled as much as I could but he just wouldn't come then I reached my hand & touched his pecks & slow motion my hand went down on his chest to his abs. YES GIRL THE ABS! Haha They were pretty firm like wow man he is super fit! He looked dashing in his sweats, white t-shirt and beanie hat! Everything happened slow motion it was insane & when he was walking in front of me it was like everyone had cleared the way & I saw him!! I'm excited I couldn't believe it then I just watched him walk by. Then I found my parents, mom got great video of him & dad revealed to me that he had in fact autographed the Bollywood shirts we had made. It was SURREAL! Dad explaining how everything happened how he said "oh how wonderful" about the shirt. It was indescribable!!
So the second time I met Ranveer it was iifa DAY! The awards were finally going to be underway & I'll fast forward to Green Carpet as you know when I had first met Dhanush. Well I was waiting HOURS & HOURS to see Ranveer yet again & he was coming up the carpet. Stopping at fans & saying "No let me see them" when the people in charge tried to rush him. That was so great like he understood some of us had been waiting since 12 or 2 & it was now 8 or 9pm. I was against the fence yet again & he was coming! I was pretty bummed that he didn't see me before at the airport because people were crushing me. Then there it was I grabbed his arm again he looked right at me & I said "can we take a selfie please?" then he came to pose in the pic with my two other friends & me. I grabbed his arm yet again haha but since people weren't crushing me this time I didn't reach for the pecks because well we don't want to be too obvious now haha. Then he kept walking & although the selfie came out blurry & his & my face were a little weird & semi cropped he came in for a selfie. I was so excited & I still get bummed that I didn't take a nice selfie but hey I got it on video all thanks to dad haha :D He even recognized my dad & saw my t-shirt again & smiled then looked at me then he did stop to take a selfie which i'm so excited about. In the rush of things sometimes things won't come out well planned (like that selfie ugh) or just perfect (like most people grrr) haha but in this case, I'm glad everything happened the way it did. It was so great just to look at him & his contagious smile & experience that positive energy he brings. Like always i'm forever grateful & who knows maybe i'll tell him this story when I work in the industry... although I'll leave the feeling his pecks part out haha... sorry Deepika :P
