I, Empire State // Collage 004
I am freshly arrived in Florida, sitting in an ice cool house on the beach, sheltered from the violent humidity outside, sipping a watered-down ice coffee that’s on the bitter side. Life is good.
Made this on the plane ride over. Constructed from four found works [ie. images].
sunflower // faces 003
I didn’t set out t make a minimalist sunflower...was thinking of something more along the lines of a japanese style enso, made out of faces. I like it, though. With a splash of warm blue or purple, it could be 10x better. Next time.
social network // faces 002
Social networks...messy, organic, alive beasts. This work departs from my usual compositions, imagining a silhouette of social network as a series of interconnected masks. These masks, strangely (or not) act on each other from a distance—connected by common lines that shape their shared features, expressions, moods, lives. India ink and ballpoint on watercolor paper.
