tony's   arrival   was   at   a   decidedly..      awkward,      time.      clea   had   just   left      —      the   two   of   them   likely   having   seen   each   other   leave   and   enter   the   sanctum,      respectively.      once   found   the   sorcerer   appeared   rather   confused,      as   usual   after   a   visit   from   his   ex-wife,      but   this   time   he   looked   a   touch   more   angry.      he   was   all   but   pacing   in   front   of   his   desk   as   he   ground   his   teeth   in   silent   agitation,      head   whipping   up   with   a   glare   at   the   sound   of   the   door   opening   once   more   before   his   expression   faltered   at   it   being   tony   who   stood   in   the   doorway.

"      ah..      tony,      "      he   began,      though   it   quickly   became   evident   that   he   didn't   quite   know   what   to   say   when   the   silence   was   never   filled   further.

On arriving in the common room of what had once been known as Stark and Avengers Tower, Loki had not been certain what to expect. Perhaps a blaring of alarms and an immediate arrest by machines or a gathering of unknown civilians staring at him before screaming when enough of them recognised his face.

But not this. Emptiness.

Loki used the stolen TemPad to close the time door and paced the once familiar room, long since remodelled following Hulk’s DIY with a Loki-hammer. His back still twinged and not only from the memory. He wasn’t aware of who had survived the Infinity War, his research only sufficient to bring him to a time after its end. It seemed as good a point as any to return to the timeline.

Were the Avengers even a thing anymore? Answers would have to be sought and here was where he last remembered. They were the authority who had impressed him as much as vexed him. They were who he thought he might speak to and how he might find Thor again.

Yet it was silent, sofas and an empty bar covered with sheets. 

Hang on.

Not completely empty. There was a lone glass and bottle of whiskey on the counter. The glass was half full. Or half-empty, if you were that way inclined. One of the sofas was partially uncovered. 

Someone was here. His senses reached out for them, prepared to defend himself.

“Hello?”

                            tony sits to his left, focused on the road as he should be. some AC/DC song is playing, just barely louder than the pouring rain on the roof of the car. a glance into the side-view mirror and he frowns, turns to look out the back of the car to someone rapidly approaching. “ this dude is really tailgating us. what’s his problem  ?  ” it was more muttered to himself when he realized tony probably didn’t hear him so he goes to repeat himself. “ this dude is real - ” before he could finish, the car rams right into them at full speed and the next thing he knows, they’re diving off the road and spinning a few times - harley trying to hold on to anything he could grab for dear life but being thrown around made that a little harder. they eventually hit what he could only guess was a tree which causes the car to stop and so the two were hanging upside down. his seatbelt is cutting into his skin, he was sure he could taste blood and he felt nauseous. so far ... not dead though. “ fucking                 !!  ” in - and exhaling sharp and shallow breaths, his head slowly turns to tony. “ y-you okay  ?  ”

“i’m not fuckin’ jealous.” he snapped, looking over to where tony was currently loosening up his tie after coming back to the tower. he’d gone to some stark event blah blah blah that sounded absolutely dreadful so naturally, dom didn’t go and stayed behind. not that he really could have gone anyway. they weren’t exactly pubic with...whatever this was between them. but after a while he’d gotten bored and turned on the tv to watch said event from the couch. everything had been fine until they’d shown tony rolling up to the party and coming out of his car with some blonde chick dom had never seen before. someone tony looked far too....chummy with for his liking. the italian was a hot head, he knew that. got that bit from his father, lucky him. 

but did he even have a right to feel the feelings he was at seeing tony show up with someone else? he’d been invited, after all, and declined to go. they hadn’t defined or labeled anything either. what leg did he have to stand on? but none of that mattered to him. all it did was let his mind race on down a rabbit hole and for those feelings to brew up and stew inside him til his lover had returned home for the evening. tony hadn’t even taken three steps inside the door before dom had snapped at him. who’s that fuckin’ bitch you were with. didn’t even know her. could have been the nicest woman on the planet. but...he was jealous. even if he would continue to vehemently deny that to the other. “so what. since i decide to stay home which i know for a fuckin’ fact you would’ve too if you could’ve, means you pick up some two cent sally to roll up with? the fuck is that.”

𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐔𝐏.  She had made up with Clint; she had her family back and life was slowly going back to normal. Pink hair still there, it had grown on her - it looked cool. She might have to get rid of it later on, after all he made her stand out like a sore thumb.  Her attention drawn towards Peaches as she stroked the cats head. She hadn’t said anything yet, after all, Thor had given her a raven and she had given said raven the very original name: Nat.  At @iinventor​‘s words she didn’t know what to say.  So instead she offered a joke. ❛ Are you saying that to me or peaches here?  ❜ 

The joke wasn’t enough to stop the tears from forming which she desperately tried to hold back.  She stopped stroking Peaches and moved to wrap her arms around him. Holding on to him tight.  ❛ I love you too, iron pants.  You don’t need to say it again, but also you kinda owe me for replacing me with a cat.... I’m nothing like a cat. ❜

“Tense? Oh no - being on a fake date with Tony stark is a breeze.”

Words are stated with a hint of sarcasm, hands fidgeting with the hem of her dress in a nervous gesture. It’s one thing to admire another from afar for intelligence akin to her own - but to be at some large event as a plus one? That’s another thing entirely. Gaze flutters about as hand arises to rake through dark tresses, huff of a sigh escaping her chest. The last time she had been around so many people was at college parties, & even then she tended to be rather anxious.

“It’s fine, completely fine - I’m fine.”
