Peter knew for a fact that he wanted to tell Sarah. He knew that from the get-go really, as he’d went over the list of possible people to tell. She was always near the top, along with May, Tony, and Ned. Now seemed like the perfect opportunity, but that didn’t stop the way his heartbeat quickened as he thought about telling her. He WANTED to do it though, and figured...why not rip the band-aid off? Taking a breath, he turned towards her. “I wanna tell you something.”

His entire body hurts.

Which is strange, because he hadn’t expected to even be conscious. The last thing he could recall was Sokovia, Ultron, Barton moving to defend the small boy with his own bullets, and his own instincts kicking in. Bullets making contact with him, crawling through flesh. Dizziness, the world fading to black as he hit the ground.

And yet somehow he was awake, a faint wet cough escaping his lips as he tried to peel his eyes open.
