“Yep.”
Taking another swig of the apple juice, he filled himself another glass before resting his elbows on his knees, clasping his hands loosely. Briefly he noted the streak of white in her otherwise dark hair, “Yours looks pretty cool. Mine was kind of…mousy brown when I was a kid? Then it went silver first when I was about…ten or so when my powers first kicked in. The white is only something that’s really come in over the past decade or so if I’m honest. Kinda miss the silver.”
His lips quirked a little at her obvious curiosity and he nodded. It had taken him a while to get accustomed to the speed when it had first kicked in, often leaving him disoriented and feeling ill, but now it was something that he wasn’t sure he could function without, as much a part of him as anything else.
“I’ve been known to regularly break the sound barrier, run across water and be an excellent asset in quick evacuations.”
Rogue lifted herself up onto the counter opposite and sat herself down on her gloved hands, her legs swinging back and forth idly. She couldn’t help but look impressed as he described his powers. “Wow, that’s pretty neat.” she said, complimenting him. “I bet you’ve travelled to all sorts’a places. That’s what I’d do, if I could run that fast. I’d go all ‘round the world explorin’.”
She paused to think for a moment, wondering how far he could run without tiring himself out. “You ever tried doin’ a lap of the world?” Rogue asked inquisitively. “D’you think you could do it?”
“Mostly what I do these days if I’m honest. Sometimes the Prof asks me to do things for him if he knows I’m heading somewhere specific. Check in on people and situations, that sort of thing,” Peter nodded in agreement, idly noting the gloves on her hands but making no mention of them or that he’d noticed them. Sure, he was nosy as hell, but he had a little bit of tact these days. Just a little bit.
“Theoretically it’s probably possible, providing nothing got in the way and I had a decent meal beforehand. My metabolism is crazy fast as well so I have to eat a ton to keep myself going sometimes. On the plus side I heal pretty quickly too, although the downside of that is that standard painkillers and that sort of thing aren’t worth much when it comes to me.”
