It occurred to me that I haven't shared a lot of my cat on here, which, considering 1. how much time I spend with him; 2. how many pictures I take of him; 3. tumblr being the cat lover website, is kind of a travesty.

So this is IJsbrand [ɛisbʁɑnt], the love of my life and most handsomest boy ever. I call him IJsje [ɛisjə] a lot, which means ice cream or popsicle. (IPA reader; make sure to select a Dutch speaker.)

He is 7 years old, he was born in Romania and I adopted him when he was about 1.5. He was soooo shy and scared at first but it didn't take too long for him to seek out my company and he's gotten SUPER cuddly and affectionate – even during the recent heatwave he still spent a good chunk of time on my lap. It took over three years before I was allowed to pick him up, though, and he's still a little hesitant with anyone who's not me. He's really a very social cat, he's just careful, but he's gotten a lot bolder lately. He is also SUCH a tiny boi, he is a tomcat but he's genuinely the smallest adult cat I've ever seen. My little gnome beast <3

The dog is his uncle Willem, who died in January. He stayed with us whenever my mum went on holiday.
