National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day is celebrated every year on July 27th to commemorate American troops who fought in the Korean War and also those who lost their lives during the conflict. This style of jacket was used from the end of World War II through the Korean War. The field jacket was nicknamed an "Eisenhower" or "Ike" jacket because General Eisenhower liked them so much.
