Shhhh.... We’re Hunting Employment...
I technically haven’t looked for a job in about ten years. Sure, I’ve held a few odd jobs during college that didn’t fall under the Mouse’s umbrella, but those were gained by in person applications and auditions. Even so, that was six years ago, if not longer. The world has changed!
I’m not ‘serious’ in my job hunting at the moment, mostly because I’ve got a performance gig and family obligations that’ll take me back to florida for almost three weeks coming up. That’s not to say I haven’t been submitting some applications, however.
Long gone are the days where you can go to a place, ask if they’re hiring, fill out an application, maybe even say hi to a manager, and wait for a potential call back. Nope, it’s all that online quiz stuff these days. I’m personally not a fan. I also didn’t do well on standardized tests. I suspect there’s a relationship there.
There’s one company that I submitted a resume towards, even before I left Florida. 12hrs after I clicked ‘send’ a rejection landed in my inbox. No idea what I did wrong, but hey, nothing I can do. Today, they sent me a second rejection letter. Just incase I didn’t get the message the first time. Thanks, I guess?
