Athens Railway Turns 150: Flashback to When History Was Made (Photos)

The Piraeus-Kifissia Electric Railway, known to most as the “Ilektrikos” has been in operation for almost 150 years, during which time it has significantly transformed the world of transportation for Athenians and travelers alike.

What started off as a transportation system with an Athens-Piraeus route by means of horse and carriage, was followed by the creation of a steam-powered train, and finally, the electric-powered train.

The modern train system first began with its initiation in 1855 by the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexandros Mavrokordatos, responsible for submitting the first bill for establishing an Athens-Piraeus railway.

✜ – this city was awfully big, asuka was beginning to realise. she'd been here for a while now, yes, but that didn't mean she had explored even half of what there was to see. it's not like she had the resources to go about most of them; not when the city had placed her in one of the 'poorer' parts of the place ––– honestly, the nerve!

how dare they place her, asuka langley shikinami, in an area surrounded by losers and weirdos, how dare they strip her of her well-earned titles and place her in the wreck they call an apartment! she was fuming silently as she made her way down one of the streets, head down, red hair blowing in the wind as her lower lip stuck out in a pout.

it didn't help that she was lost.

Laughs most of my problems are because of how different she is from characters I usually rp. I haven't rped such a sweet character in a while because...well I sort of got bored of it and wanted something different. Annnd most of my characters aren't so young. It's just really weird to look at like shipping/childhood memes and be like ohoho 8? yr old child. Well, it's not so much a problem, I guess, I just need to get used to it aha.
