I'm pretty sure you hooked me in with SGA (and History of Maps is still one of the loveliest fics I've read) but I was into the show anyway, so what I think was remarkable was how many times and how obsessively I read Conflicts of Interest even though it was barely show interest adjacent given that I only watched a scattered handful of Smallville episodes and never went into Superman or superboy comics canon either. I read it all over again a few months ago and still loved it just as fondly.

I’m so jealous that you only ever watched a handful of Smallville episodes entire years of my life, wasted, on that trainwreck. The only good thing it ever gave us was Michael Rosenbaum Lex Luthor God fucking damn it that man was so fucking sexy though.

Zayn hasn't tried dragging anyone's inconsistencies or dramatically exposed anyone's obvious lies himself or through his PR, leave alone trying to smear someone else for his own career's benefit. Everything he's revealed (that people have found it convenient to ignore when they want) has been to establish the truth of his own life, and I appreciate that approach a lot.

right like when in my life have i ever suggested that zayn is gender-fluid or actually does drag irl?? not to mention that... zayn in drag has happened... like we literally.... have video footage of that being a thing.... how is that at all the same as the insane tinhat conspiracy theories ppl go on to prove harry and louis are gay based on “limp wrists” and shirt patterns 🤔

also extremely true. there aren't a lot of huge mainstream artists that spotlight fanworks the way he does. he's very attentive abt connecting to us in that way which i think is equally (if not more important) bc lbr anyone can do 4884488383 press interviews and performances and still flop (see: thumb jonas, knee), but at the very least putting the creative works of his fans on the metaphorical fridge the way he does is helping zayn to strengthen the loyalty of his base. but i mean, hates gonna hate and all that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

yeah, i'm not really too bothered by how it turned out since this is just a mv for a soundtrack where he might not have had complete artistic control, not something for z2. and the theme of the song is heartache and sadness so it's not like his broodiness is off the mark here lmao. but my fingers are definitely crossed for what happens next. it'll be interesting to see since he's in a way better place now than he was when mom was coming together.
