The last time I arted was a few months ago, and it had been rather difficult. Difficult enough that I wasn’t actually able to finish what I had started. Now…well, it’s still uncomfortable, but weirdly enough, not as uncomfortable as it was? Which is strange, considering that I’m way bigger than I was before.
But whatever. Art. Granted, boring as sin art, but its art and it counts.
Basically, I was so struck by @callistochan87‘s NaNo designs that I had to do a crossover piece. Had to. Because it’s tradition. Even if neither one of us actually do NaNo this year, for varying reasons, or only one of us does it. Tradition is tradition is tradition, after all. And really, I think I’m grasping at straws in order to make this one work, but whatever.
The girl on the left there is my Illianna Majere, or Lily as she’s known in this outfit. She’s a princess that’s been kidnapped and then ‘misplaced’ in a country recently annexed by her kingdom. She sort of lives the life as a peasant, although her ‘job’ is basically being handmaiden to the Duchess of the country. But she’s still very much a princess, even if she’s hiding it because she doesn’t want to go back to that life.
The girl on the right is @callistochan87’s Girl-with-no-name-yet, whom I’m calling Girl at the moment. As far as I can tell, she actually is a peasant, albeit a strange and unusual one. She’s on a quest to find some medicine for her sick sister, and is a bit of a wild child, given that she doesn’t like to dress in the societal norms. Or something to that nature.
Pretty much the only things these two have in common, at least at the moment, is that they are both blondes and they’re both the main PoV character (Girl is the main out of many, whereas Illy is first-person). That’s…it, really. But hey, that’s all that matters, right? I mean, hell, most of the time the only thing our characters have in common is that they’re the main character, so at least this time they have something else!
Naturally, Girl turned out way more adorable that Illy did, what with her unruly hair and her better outfit. But I’m sure Illy will look just as good once she has some color to her! I probably screwed up something with Girl’s outfit, but whatever – I kinda like it.
Of course, I can’t really do anything with this now, mostly because I gotta wait until @callistochan87 either does up some sort of color reference for Girl…or else agrees to make this look so much better by coloring it herself. >.> For now, it’s just in inks, but hey, at least I have an excuse as to why I’m not finishing it up now!
Just excited to actually have a ISoF piece that’s recent. >.<
