She could have groaned outright at the monotony of her routine. Even her sole day off of work provided little to no entertainment, unless she could summon the energy to create it herself or gather the strength to seek out those who happened to create it.
Her steps were blind as she made her way to the corner store, eyes dull and fixed on nothing in particular as she rounded the curb.
Her steps gradually found her destination, and after some short minutes, she emerged from it with her off-brand fabric softener in hand. She huffed a sigh, not at all eager to go back to what was her home, but knowing that she would have to. Though the loud, startling noise of revving engines caught her attention. Her forehead creased slightly, seeing some young men admiring the audacious, sleek vehicle before them. She could pick out the owner almost immediately, seeing a proud grin lighting his face as he leaned gently against it.
Not a thought later did she scurry across the intersection, eagerness and curiosity overwhelming her. She did wait until he was free of his new fans before she approached him, a soft and disbelieving smile on her face.
"...my goodness, you look at dat car like a daddy look at his baby girl..!" she hummed out, laughing quietly
