Maevewine Stormrage character profile
Male night elf demon hunter, son of Illidan Stormrage
Maevewine was the unexpected child of Illidan Stormrage and his wife and second in command of the Illidari, Soverwine. He was born in Outland, and no one expected him to survive birth or childhood.
Maevewine was born with the Fel corruption of his parents, his eyes made of green fire and his skin scaled. His smaller horns on his face had come in by the time he was one year old, and he had the nubs of his larger horns by the time he was two.
He was sent with the demon hunters to Mardum during the assault on the Black Temple with his mother, just in case the army succeeded in breaching the Temple. When they returned, Maevewine was imprisoned with them in the Vault of Wardens, at the age of two. His mother was holding him when the Wardens caught them, and she didn't have time to do anything else. The Wardens just used his existence as further propaganda against Illidan and his people, saying that they had kidnapped a child to be a soldier with them. Despite the fact that Maevewine had never once fought before that, only watched over and kept safe.
He grew inside the green crystal with his mother, magically sustained just like the rest. During their time, he discovered that his unique blend of Fel corruption allowed him to telepathically communicate with the other Illidari and, if he concentrated, any demon. Maevewine's mental conversations and wandering with the other demon hunters kept both he and them sane, and even occasionally linking up their minds for certain occasions, usually birthdays and holidays.
By the time the Legion invaded again and Maiev released the demon hunters, Maevewine was 14, and his parentage was still unknown by anyone other than their allies. His Fel blood had allowed him to grow quickly, and he was much larger than many of his Illidari brothers and sisters, despite looking like a young teenager.
After his mother was able to repair her relationship with her daughters from her previous marriage, he was able to meet his two older half sisters, Cherwine and Icena.
Maevewine was, with a lot of concentration and magical support, able to locate his father's soul in the Twisting Nether shortly after his release from the Vault. He kept Illidan updated on the situation as he knew it, and passed along messages from the other demon hunters and his mother.
Illidan and Soverwine both felt incredibly guilty over bringing him into the world with the amount of corruption in him from birth. They knew that him being born into the Illidari was anathema to the core of their organization, which was personal sacrifice and choosing to do what others would or could not. But they refused to give him up, knowing that his chances would be even worse with someone else, and they couldn't bear to abort, half hoping that the pregnancy would miscarry. But it didn't, and Maevewine lived, and they, the Naga, the Shivarra, the Broken, and his demon hunter siblings will defend him to the death and beyond.
Personality: he is a very curious individual, always willing to learn more about anything. He has a unique perspective on the world, both literally and figuratively, given that he was born with Fel eyes. Maevewine is relatively quiet, for an Illidari, but comparatively speaking he is a fairly boisterous teenager.
Misc: he lost that chunk of his ear during his first fight with a demon- other than when he was escaping the Vault with the rest of his family. The scar on his face he accidentally gave himself as a child, as he also inherited his father's claws.
