it's going to be three years next sunday from the infection that began my chronic illness. 1095 days of waking up and grieving the person i was before, grieving the life i had and the future that was taken. three years of doctors and waiting rooms and hospital visits and surgeries and trying to remain a singer in a world that has no room for illness or time lost. after my surgery in april i was finally letting myself begin to hope and work toward a future again. planning a concert, reconnecting with other musicians. but now i'm dealing with another mysterious flare up from something i caught two weeks ago and it's hard not to feel like it's all pointless when my illness can just stop me in my tracks again and i can't do anything to keep myself safe. i know that this particular moment will pass like others have over the past three years but right now it's so heavy

idk if this is just me but rabies is exactly like if something was made up specifically to fuck with people with OCD. you're telling me there's a disease endemic to large portions of the world that can live in my body with no symptoms for years? once symptoms start it is 100% You Die Disease? and one of its major vectors where i live is an extremely common animal with teeth so small it's possible not to even notice it bit you? surely i can get vaccinated though--ah, no, you need a "reason" or they don't give you the shot. the standard of prevention is Vigilance, Checking, and Avoiding Certain Behaviors, things that my brain is very good at doing in a healthy way, for sure. eat my ass.

Your f/o is always willing to help you out if you're ill. Fever? They'll help you cool off. Need water? Already got some. Feeling genuinely awful? Don't even worry about it. They'll help you through it

Plural culture is front being "poisoned" whenever we get sick. Basically after someone fronts they get really ill in headspace, and are in the medical area until the body (and them) recover. So we have to be really careful about switch frequency and who we let front (there is some control over these for us) to balance between avoiding fronting fatigue from fronting too long and too many people getting sick. We also have to prevent people who do super essential headspace jobs from fronting.

Okay. So turns out I've got pneumonia. I'm supposed to feel all better within 4 doses of the antibiotics!! So hopefully I'll be around soon!

it  is  a  deliberate  choice  that  the  only  way  to  tell  alastor  is  ‘in  love’  with  someone  is  that  he  begins  behaving  as  if  he's  contracted  chronic  wasting  disease;  drastic  weight  loss  [as  if  he  could  get  thinner—  he  just  stops  eating  in  a  regular  pattern,]  stumbling,  lack  of  coordination,  trembling,  drooping  ears,  excessive  salivation/drooling,  confusion  &  a  loss  of  fear  of  humans!

he  can't  love  without  becoming utterly,  sickeningly  obsessed—  &  this  is  where  the  stalking  begins,  then  comes  learning  every  single  detail  about  them.  later  on,  he's  stealing  personal  belongings  [clothing,  accessories,  hair  or  fur—  little  things  that  remind  him  of  them!]  he  will  cook  for  them,  he  will  kill  for  them.

some  might  mistake  this  sudden  interest  as  him  being  thoughtful  [&  maybe  he  is,]  he  does  become  more  sloppy  at  hiding  things  due  to  emotional  turmoil,  but  he  will  always  disguise  it  as  something  else  or  try  to  downplay  it.  he  will  even  go  to  extreme  lenghts  &  blatantly  push  them  away;  fearful-avoidant  attachment  style  at  it's  best.
