My person is holding a fish. As you can probably see my illustrator skills are fairly weak, however, doing this illustration experiment jump-started me to use illustrator more. I chose to do a fisherman because I like the color schemes that goes along with them and also I enjoy rendering fish. For my first vector person I am not terrible ashamed about this.

Feedback from Metaphor project.

Positives: The color palettes, nice moments in several of the ideas. Negatives: easily readable, the color on the trees make it hard to read, The arms and the door in ' fear' not reading well at all. 

Things to consider and remember: Watch perspective. The colors in printing will differ from what's on the screen: go into print mode in photoshop to check. Try printing with a 10% white overlay. Make time for test printing. Keep referring back to the assignment to make sure I'm fulfilling it.

More Class work yay!

1. Target- marble bust  , Source- a large hole, Ground- both materials are organic. , Tension- the face of bust is replaced. , Use- to draw people in 'deeper' to the person, beyond the face and beauty. - replacement

2.Target- female, Source- lions , Ground- both creatures that need food and social groups., Tension- animalistic violence by a human. use- how violent people/ groups can be. -  fusion

3.Target- ipads/internet, Source- windshield wipers, Ground- clears possible miscommunication , Tension- the internet is not a tangible thing., Use- the person can see clearly now the fog is gone.

4.Target- health insurance, Source- game show roulette, Ground- crazy prices , Tension- real life vs tv show. , Use- the insanity of health costs.

5.Target- Business man, Source- RGB cherubs , Ground-inspirations , Tension- arrows not aimed at heart, not love, violent action. Use- How inspiration strikes.

6. Target- Apple , Source-snake/worm and rot , Ground- natural process of worms , Tension- the worm/snake is very violent and dangerous. , Use- hidden danger.

7.Target- priest , Source- graveyard , Ground- both church based , Tension- the graveyard is a naturally creepy place juxtaposed on a face of a supposedly nice man. Use- dangerous place that acts as though it is accessible.

8.Target- plane , Source- butterfly , Ground- Flight , Tension- dangerous vs peaceful , Use- Compare and contrast the two images

9. Target- the sea, Source- grove , Ground- nature , Tension- water vs land , Use- juxtaposing

10.Target- tire ,Source- eye , Ground-  the shape, Tension- man made with an eye , Use- pun about tires.

Responses from critique regarding the silhouettes: + The Reds, How Devo turned out, texture, visible brush strokes, colors -The arm and hand on bowie reads weird,  need more microphones to read as an owl silhouette, Microphone details, Liven up Devo's skin. The face of Freddie.  OMG I hate printing: Don't ever print in jpg- Print in PDF or TIFF. Watch out for color setting. CMYK for printing(300 dpi + )and RGB for web(72 dpi).
