my acnh endgame villagers are so hard to decide like... rant unda the cut

to contextualize, i have a Very OCD driven one villager per species rule (for example i can only have one cat, one octopus, one goat, etc.) and i have to have one villager per personality type, along with two duplicate personalities to make a solid ten. 

THAT BEING SAID: i am NEVER letting sherb and marina leave, they’re best friends and unexpected favorites. sherb is the first villager i ever found on a mystery island, and marina i encountered immediately after. they’re endgame. 

sherb acts as my Lazy Goat villager, and marina is my Normal Octopus villager. i cannot have any more goats or octopi or else i will literally get so stressed out and feel the undying urge to reset my town.

whitney and apollo are very personal villagers to me. they represent my parents, and ever since my dad died that sentiment has become more pertinent within my life. they can also never leave, meaning whitney is my Snooty Wolf and apollo is my Cranky Eagle. due to how personal whitney and apollo are to me, i REFUSE to have any other snooty or cranky villagers in my town. they’re my parents and it would feel weird having another similar personality to them.

tangy and pietro i’ve grown to adore, and they can’t leave either. tangy is my Peppy Cat and pietro is my Smug Sheep. cherry is a weirder case because she’s my favorite uchi character, and i love her dearly, but she hasn’t grown on me to the extent that the others have. i will 99.9% end up keeping her.

i’m pretty sure i’m gonna let fauna move in to fill my second normal spot, since she’s a very sentimental character to me. i’m not in love with teddy yet, and i sorta miss my starting villager genji ;___;

tdlr; i am extremely particular when it comes to the villagers in this game and have arbitrary rulesets for myself to follow

genuinely have no restraint when it comes to unique villagers... i have no crankies but i just invited gladys from an island because she was just too cute to pass up
