Pathfinder Race: Illumians
I was always interested in the 3.5 Illumian race. They’re beings of pure language.
Illumians get +2 to any one attribute.
They gain the rune (language) domain, treating their character level as their cleric level and their highest mental stat as wisdom for the purpose of ability to use these spells and abilities.
Whenever they gain a rank in linguistics, they learn another language (or gain a language point if using the alternate language rules.)
