genuinely I underestimate how powerful the lineup of my 2nd timeline protags is, just like conceptually.

we got; -plucky lil wimp of a mage who will boil your blood inside your veins if you make her a little bit too upset, and regularly has to resort to brutally killing people with axes. Very maladjusted from years of isolation in a tower but she's also really sweet and bubbly. god(s?) won't let her die :) -her cocky cousin who hits things with big hammers and thinks he's funny (but don't look too closely beneath that sarcastic veneer haha, he's totally well-adjusted and has no fear of inadequacy or his own failures whatsoever). he died so his cousin's ex-boyfriend could live, you're welcome alistair <3 -the scariest 7ft qunari assassin with dark eyes you've never seen, because despite cutting an imposing figure, she leaps through the air and does insane trick shots like one of those stunts that the one tumblr-famous archery guy is always debunking. Also everyone treats her like their mom or favourite teacher for some reason and she just leans into it. -my creepy son who doesn't really feel at home unless he's surrounded by skeletons (real or iconography) and at least 3 haunted objects. A rare dwarf "mage" who does lyrium enchantment stuff and overall is just a lil sweetie. Oh and he ALSO likes to hit things with big hammers too :3

Reintroducing: Ilmanith Adaar of the Valo-Kas

just some quick notes about her:

Ilmanith’s appearance was very much inspired by the DA2 Qunari models, because that art style just stuck with me, so I gave her a fairly squared face with bold features to try to reflect that. (a strong brow-line, aquiline nose, wide-set jaw and defined cheekbones, and of course long luxurious hair!)

She’s a 52 year old mercenary, and has a fairly rugged complexion with more than a few scars to commemorate all the times she hasn’t died so far.

Also tried to make her appearance a little more lore-friendly; codex entries say that qunari have “strange eyes”, so I installed the Black Scleras mod. Used Enhanced Character Creator to make her hair a little more shiny and “metallic”. Idk if there’s any lore to support that but I just felt Qunari should have shiny hair :)

Though she is Vashoth and never knew life under the Qun, Ilmanith does have a preference for Qunari fashion choices. The outfit shown here in particular makes use of pieces from her mother’s old armour, who had been a Saarebas before fleeing Qunari lands with Ilmanith’s father. (it’s actually just a variation of Hissera’s armour from DAI Multiplayer but sshhhh!)

re: that last reblog, thinking about how both of my canon Inquisitors are fascinated by Solas in completely different ways

Ilmanith was like "damn he sounds very knowledgeable about his field and is confident in his work, haha why do I find that kind of hot tho 👀"

Meanwhile Valyhra was like "you're the only other elf mage in this Andrastian cult who will talk to me, and you know a lot about my hyperfixation, so congrats on being my new mentor/father figure!"

So anyway, I’ve been putting off this part of the game for literally months because even though I planned on doing this in advance, I actually got really attached to Reuben way more than I had thought I would and now I am sad :(

On the bright side though, I figured out a new text effect in my editing program

I finally completed the shards quest, only because the Arishok’s Vitaar is the goth look that Ilmanith truly deserved all along
