Here we go again

Jim Cantore already arrived in town. But he does love Wrightsville Beach in a Hurricane for some reason. I mean, it's a good beach, but it's too touristy for me. I prefer the kitschy places like Carolina Beach.

So, another Hurricane. Only we're staying here because it looks like it will only be a 2 when it comes by. Those of you who were with me last year know that Florence made landfall 15 miles from my house last year.

Good times.

If I go quiet it's cause we lost power, and not because I don't love you.

Update for those of you who were concerned

I am alive and well, me and my partner made a last minute decision to leave ahead of Florence. Currently we are at my parents house in SC. We have no news on the state of our apartment, since travel into Wilmington is just now opening up. Unfortunately a lot of the roads are still flooded.

I have no idea when we will be back to normal, as they're expecting it to take a few more days (potentially the 23rd) before power is restored to Wilmington, so even if we could go home idk what we would do. It's so bad that my job has opened itself as a temporary shelter for its employees.

Thank you to those of you who have messaged me out of concern. I'll try to update you all again soon.

Florence has made Wilmington, N.C., an island cut off from the rest of the world

There are no roadways open to the city, the airports and port are closed.

Guys, this is my city. Were in a despret situation.
