♋- They were odd, everyone knew that. Individually and together.
Generally twins were both the same class, two Alphas, two Betas, and so forth. Instead Castiel came out the Alpha. Jimmy— Beta.
Alphas were usually brash and outspoken, stating opinions, chasing after the others. But it was Jimmy who cracked the obnoxious jokes, grinned and punched people’s shoulders instead of being the quiet one. Gabriel was most likely to blame, being the next oldest he spent the most time with the brothers. Both a good and bad thing.
Castiel and Jimmy had been attached at the hip since birth. A twosome in all things, there had been a natural progression most missed. Same food, same clothes, same haircuts for years. Same bathwater—that is until they’d been deemed old enough to bathe themselves. They’d still snuck into the same tub, among chidings by elder siblings and frazzled parents. But washing alone hadn’t seemed to make sense after so many years together.
Bunk beds yielded little in efforts of separation- one crawling into the other’s bed through the night. Sleeping alone seemed unnatural, felt lonely. Sharing clothes- sometimes swapping them halfway through the day, to the confusion of teachers and students. Eventually everyone left them to their own devices; and perhaps that was what gave them the freedom to continue with what felt right.
Twin beds—though they still crawled into one each night. Same showers—conserving water was important. They’d been messing around for awhile now. If he’d been a baseball fan he’d have likened it to the minor leagues. They were each other’s first kiss, soft and shy when they’d crawled under the porch to talk where nobody could hear. Their showers had turned to lingering touches and more of those little kisses. Sometimes at night they’d press up close and breathe into each other’s necks to muffle the noises as they rubbed hips, clutched fingers into shoulders and shirts, under the back of waistbands. Held each other as they shook apart and fell asleep, warm and lazy together.
They’d traded looks, their touches had gotten steadily more daring. Fingers delving in the shower or first thing in the morning, stolen kisses at school when nobody was looking and purple marks under shirt collars. Somehow it’d always been the Beta who ended up with his shirt off and hiding whines, but he assumed it was Castiel and his Alpha thing trying to steadily drive him crazy. He wasn’t sure why it hadn’t occurred to him to complain about it. Maybe because the last time he hadn’t complained his mouth had been a little…occupied. Then again, so had Castiel’s. And he wouldn’t mind not complaining again that night.
It’d been Jimmy’s idea at first, though not in so many words. They both knew it would happen eventually, they’d stolen supplies from Gabriel while he was out just in case. He’d been complaining about his freckle, the only difference between them[other than their voices and…reactions- physically, anyway], the one that had inspired more than a couple experimentations with messing around. Somehow they’d gotten from there to here, prodding and pinching to try and find any more differences between them; something they’d missed, though they both knew they knew exactly what the other looked like by now.
That didn’t stop him though, he liked Castiel’s touches. So they continued the guise of trying to spot a freckle or a spot on every inch of skin, tracking along Jimmy’s arms and chest, Castiel’s own shirt getting lost along the way in the quest to match appearance. “How about this one?” He pointed to a faint spot under his collarbone. Jimmy was actually kind of blushing, but that was mostly because he was trying not to squirm or whimper whenever Castiel’s cool, nimble fingers traced over his nipples again, pretending to look at his freckle though he knew he really wasn’t.
