Image by @jim_abernethy // The American Alligator is one of the perfect examples of great conservation efforts. This species was hunted to the brink of extinction by the 1970's. In 1967 it was put on the endangered list. The huge demand for their skin and meat nearly wiped them out however huge conservation efforts actually reversed their collapse and the American Alligator is no longer on the endangered list! Cousteau said it best, "We only protect what we love! I love all wildlife, so thank YOU very much for all your help! My favorite Alligator in the wild, Fluffy! Join me in the everglades to see our beautiful wildlife for yourself. Please sign the petition in my bio to end the spraying of nearly 1 million gallons of glyphosate, a registered antibiotic in our aquifers where 90% of our drinking water comes from! This is the cause of all of the worst Red Tides and will continue to be until we stop it! @jim_abernethy @wildlifevoiceinc @sealegacy #TurningTheTide #everglades #stopthepoison #saveplanetearth #redtide #toxic18 #bluegreenalgae #SaveFlorida #glyphosate #iloveflorida #protectwildlife #endglyphosate #cleanwater #saveprotectedanimals #savetheeverglades #bethechangetheworldneeds #savewildlife #protectwhatyoulove #ilovecrocodileans #ilovewildlife #epicimages #sustainable #saveplanetearth #conservation #jimabernethysscubaadventures (at Dupuis Management Area) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bz1jglipgtJ/?igshid=jsox2z6m5vrg
