I realised these letters are to blurt out your inner story, your desires and your weirdest you. What a platform! Combined with the push Keith Haring’s exhibition has given me: flashes of thrown paint buckets, snippets of protesters’ shouting down, thousands of words only I can see behind my closed eyes, feelings that occur when I’m raking over old coals and an eagerness that appeared dead a long time ago. Art in every form and its simplest manifestation. My fingers are itching to write.

Madeleine: "The book is about an intellectual couple who becomes infatuated with this guy named Dick. It's funny to see a highbrow couple act this way, but honestly, I think a lot of couples in New York want to be like them. I'm actually single so I'm not any kind of couple right now. I'd like be part of a couple that's known to be honest and independent. It's important to stay independent as a woman in a relationship. Tbh this one feels a little weird to read on the subway. But it’s definitely worth any semantic embarrassment. Kraus explores her own experience with infatuation in a beautiful and confusing way. It reminds me that love, lust and obsession are very rarely black and white. Expectations and reality can be such opposites. It’s a good book for anyone feeling lost or exhausted by men (romantic relationships in general).
