Sortin’ & Decidin’ ... (Said with a Southern drawl! Not the name of pharmaceuticals.) . Believe it or not most of the ‘ikka’ (stuff) is from Dad & Mum/Mom’s 28 of 50 years ‘in country’. (Fortunately you can’t see the furniture.) . Due to political, financial & family reasons I’ll be moving back to Australia. This will mean looking for a job that’s, hopefully, close to the children. We don’t intend to close down the projects we are involved in; however, it’ll be a sideline rather than a full time occupation. . It’s been three years that this little shack has been my home (& occasionally prison) but everything comes to an end. . It’s heartbreaking to see the faces of friends, people we help & people in general when I tell them I’m leaving. There are soooooo many needy people, but,... . Anyway, Over the next few days/weeks I’ll be: - Finalising the purchase & transport of some hospital equipment - donating all of this to different NGO and local organisations. (I’m trying to decide which item goes to the person/group/organisation that can use it most effectively. Also, I have to keep in mind that personal items can go wherever I choose, but items bought with donated money have to be given within the guidelines that are reasonably stipulated by Global Development Group who audit us for the relavent Australian Federal Government departments.) - Clean the house because the hospital wants to use it as visiting specialist accomodation. (I have to laugh because they hadn’t used it for decades until we fixed it up. (I try and leave things better than I found them.) . Day 19: Tools. Well, who knew I had this many tools? Um, not me! My favourites I use all the time are: 1. flush cutters - cuts flat across the wire not leaving a point. 2. nylon pliers - for straightening wire and forming spirals. 3. Round nose pliers - for forming tight loops. 4. Serated edge pliers - for crimping bends (see upcoming post of Leo and the Perseids!) 5.
