It’s been almost five months since @emily_wiggles accident. Months of pain and surgery and syringe feeding of liquid nutrition. Dr appointments and physical therapy and giving up the things she loves. And the thing that hit her the hardest was having to give up Krav Maga. She finally got the green light from her doctors to go ahead and start sparring again and she is so dang happy to be back on the mat. You go, baby girl, and kick some butt. I don’t think I fully appreciated how precious and fragile life is until last month. 5 weeks ago, my baby girl was hit by a car while crossing the street in Atlanta. 3 days in the ICU and surgery for a broken jaw were hard to deal with but we know things could have been so much worse. Today is surgery number two and I pray this is the last thing she has deal with before getting back to life as usual. We have several weeks, if not months, of recovery, healing, and some dental and orthodontic work. But she is fierce and determined. I know in my heart that she will come out of this stronger than ever. She has a whole lot of smoothies in her future.
