Yesterday was the saddest day I could ever imagine. After 14 amazing years I had to put down my Dave, my little man, my old-man puppy. He had prostate cancer and an almost fully calcified prostate. In his final days he could neither eat more than a handful of anything, and it always had to come directly from my hand, nor could he go to the bathroom. As sad as it was to euthanize him, it was even sadder to watch him deteriorate. He and I had a close bond and to me he was more than a dog. He was a “people.” I talked to him at length about what was going to happen and when I looked in his eyes they showed nothing but relief and a quiet acceptance. He is no longer in any pain and that is all a pet owner can really hope for. I read somewhere that doing what I had to do, putting him in his final sleep, is the final act of love a pet owner can do for his or her pet. He knew I loved him more than words could ever possibly express and that is the best I can ask for. RIP Davie Dog. I will never forget you my little man.

It makes me happy to know that despite what absolute shit is normally on the radio stations in west virginia, rihanna is unable to continue on with some of her tours due to lack of ticket sales. While dave matthews band has officially had the highest tour following and ticket sales of any band in the last decade. Makes me content in knowing that at least one thing is still right with the world.
