Hot take but you can add your pronouns to the end of an email or put it in your bio and still not be completely accepting of trans people. all you're doing is putting your pronouns, but still expecting everyone else's disclosed pronouns to match the apparent identity that you think they should have. And that's not helpful to anyone. AND you should not get upset with trans people for not immediately letting you know their pronouns-- especially if they do not know you, do not know the group that you're in, and don't know if it's a safe space to come out. Just because you shared yours doesn't open the door for all trans people. Yes it normalizes having pronouns be part of greetings and introductory conversation, but in my experience some cis people do it like it's an after-thought hassle-- and set a precedent that the pronouns are "what you expect", and match the gender a trans person was assigned at birth. For someone like me a trans man who hasn't started hormones, when i suddenly gives he/him pronouns people get uncomfortable because I don't pass and those pronouns are not what they expected. There's still an expectation to what someone's pronouns will be if you force people to put their pronouns without considering what that feels like in new groups, what something may feel like everyday for a trans person. The transphobia is still there, you just wrote it down. That's all.
