RWBY Theory: Penny was a real girl

I have no idea if someone else has come up with this (probably) but here it goes:

Penny and RWBY have a talk about Penny being a "real girl" and Penny tells RWBY that she is the first synthetic person created with an aura. She also mentions that she was created by her father with assistance from Ironwood.

Ironwood who, using money and the "greatest minds of atlas" created a machine that could rip an aura from a person on the brink of death, and transfer it to another.

So Penny's father had a daughter - the original penny and she was dying. He asked Ironwood to use the machine to transfer his daughters aura over to the synthetic robot he had made.

In return Ironwood would be given control and power over Penny.
