Think about other sad things. Like how for the moment Chief thought all Elites were bad again, he could've thought about the Arbiter and been like, "Arby wtf."

What if for a moment, for a brief fleeting moment he thought that the Arbiter had been murdered and overthrown for the Elites to only go back to their ill-standing positions within the Covenant. What if he thought they hadn’t escaped the Ark like he believed and the Sangheili had been forced back into the Covenant or were now the figureheads of what they knew was a false religion based purely upon lies?OH MY GOD I DONT WANT THESE EMOTIONS.
