Shelly (She/It) identifies as a Lesbian but she is attracted to certain men.

Cuphead (He/Any) is unlabelled, he ain't too worried about it (unlike his brother whose pronouns page has twenty flags and counting).

They're so, "she fell first but he fell harder." Shelly saw his boldness as admirable, and slowly found the rest of him endearing. Cuphead didn't really perceive Shelly's existence until she did one specific kind gesture for him. Then he actively searches for her, quickly falling in love with every bit of her... The problem is that he doesn't notice nor show it LMAO. He accidentally leads Shelly on A LOT, to the point she thinks they're officially together because everyone said they were😭😭 Mostly due to their clinginess. They share everything! Food, clothes, secrets... Tbh the crew spills so much tea : Bendy starts it, Cuphead escalates it, Mugman is the harshest, Shelly keeps her words civil, and Boris stays silent but he agreeing with every word. Anyways, Cupshell will have a talk about what their relationship is... someday

OR — Cuphead does realise his feelings pre "Cupshell" and pursues a romantic relationship with Shelly but they're both utterly oblivious to the other's advances.

Shelly wants them to act like a "true couple" but Cuphead expected their relationship to stay the same. DRAMA ENSUES BECAUSE THEIR ISSUE AVOIDANCE🎉🎉🎉 Shelly eventually figures out they don't need to be picture perfect, and Cuphead learns to go outside his comfort zone and treat Shelly to more romantic gestures.

— Dante used to be a sea prince/princess in the past probably. They can't remember anything, but something at the back of their mind doesn't let them swim too far back into the sea, also they were literally chased out of there. They stay with Vergilius for some time because of that.

— Vergilius is a normal fisherman, normal fishermen don't usually catch mermaids out of nowhere. He initially planned on trying to sell Dante on the (secret and dark) mermaid market, but due to their weird head he wasn't too sure of their value. Their body wouldn't go well for perfume or meat and since they can't speak they can't sing like other mermaids do to charm people. He tried returning them back to the sea, but seeing that Dante was afraid of something there he decided to keep them at his house, for now.

— I can imagine Dante being very insecure of the fact that they can't sing to Verg, they'd probably want to thank him with some healing song or something similar but all that reaches him is the ticking of a clock. Maybe Vergilius can eventually tell them he likes their ticking as background noise. and there we have it. the mermaid is cooked

— Image: Dante climbing out of their bathtub and dragging themself all the way to Vergilius's bed to try singing to him in his sleep but ending up just sorrowfully ticking away...

— Also Charon interacting with Dante like a dumb kid looking into an aquarium with fishies. Mimicking their movements and ticking and puffing her cheeks out.

— btw Vergilius had probably killed a LOT of mermaids in his dark dark past. but he'll get better!

fiona frauenfeld headcannons because i love her so much

i mentioned this before BUT: THE BIGGEST BROWN EYES EVER. im so adamant about this hc

they speak for her! she might not be able to communicate verbally, but one look into her eyes and they hold all the answers to what she's thinking or feeling

the others, especially hugh, would often compare her to a doe because of this ♡

after hugh discovered the song "brown eyed girl" by van morrison he would NOT shut up about it in regards to her

i imagine she has an off-putting vibe to people who meet her for the first time because she's very quiet, and that coupled with her abnormally large eyes tends to make others avoid her

but when you get to know her, she is the biggest sweetheart in the universe

there's no denying that everyone in the loop simply adores her. like in all the decades she's lived in carinholme, she never had a single enemy

even enoch who is much more critical towards his friends only had nice things to say about fiona. he even called her a “sweet, wonderful girl” in one of the books. that's very telling imo :)

her love language is gifts! she gives her friends veggies, fruits, and flowers. i like to imagine she picks flowers out depending on her friend's personalities, aesthetics, or needs, and she's always so thoughtful about it.

1] You strike me as being very comfortable and confident in your artstyle, which is inspiring me to try and achieve such skill myself someday. How long would you say did it take for you to reach this point? [or simply put, how long have you been making art]

2] Your character designs are very intriguing! [the Carnageman Ike ones I am especially partial to] Do you think your characters and stories will ever reach the point of being refined into a series/comic/show or something of the sort that we can read/watch in a completed sense? I find myself curious about these worlds you have made, and quite badly wish I could experience more of them.

1. Thank you so much! I think it was after figuring out human anatomy. I used to think I could draw people pretty ok, because I could do busts, and portraits, and draw characters, and I studied street fighter 3 sprites (which, in my defense, sf3 sprites are very helpful)

I eventually took a course with a really simple workload looking back (but still very hard because of my awesome teacher) but BASICALLY the entire class was configured around doing 1 minute figure drawings…. Focusing only on proper dimensions (making sure the arms didnt look too long, the ribcage was the right size, etc)

I had never spent less than 20 minutes on an observational drawing before. So it was really crazy.

We basically spent ten weeks drawing chunky stick figures really fast, haha. But after, I found I could draw any subject, doing any pose, pretty fast. And NO erasing! Pen only!

I think that was when I got confident in art. If anyone reading this feels THEY are not confident in art- you should totally spend more time people watching in a park with a sketchbook, drawing them really fast before they disappear, or downloading packs off trueref.io and trying to draw 30, 40 poses from some of the packs. Its really cheap for a membership and they actually have different body types. I think after I had proper posing behind me… it was easy to feel confident in what I do, because posing was a problem in every piece by default. Now im like “this face looks weird.” Or “styling this is hard.”

But I never think “I cant draw a backflip!” And that is huge for my confidence.

2: You are in such luck. For years I have been building off of my brand and doing little projects… I did not want to bite off a huge project and abandon it. It was more fun to make hypotheticals, designing casts and settings and saying “what if.” After all, when I moved to LA, I didnt have time for anything but rent.

But now, over the next year, im prepping a kickstarter for Carnageman:Ike Chapter 1. Im going to animate a big trailer for it too. I just havent posted anything about it because frankly, I have lots of behind the scenes stuff to put in order before I start posting. I am doing a lot of visdev on how I want it all to look. And if I post too early, my stupid animal brain might feel accomplished- and not want to work as hard. Sometimes when I post wips, this happens. I go “wow. That feels great. I am done now. Onto the next thing.” Stupid animal brain.

But in the meantime… I also want to make my hiker comic!!! All I do in my spare time is camp and hike and I want to make my little comic about what I love! I feel like this project will become a vacation for me when I am working on Ike… like how Spielberg would work on 2 movies at once and treat one as a vacation from the other 😭

heehee do NAWT apologize im literally always sooooo happy to answer questions about love island au... they are all my babies and i will write about anything you want to hear about until i never get another ask again. anyway buckle up im about to YAPPPPPPP

i think some of the islanders are still friends and some aren't! in my head, they live a bit scattered around the UK, and location can be a big part of who stayed close and who didn't. oscar and lily ended up moving to london together pretty shortly after the villa so they stayed close with lando and yn because of that!! i also think lily and yn stayed quite close with gemma even though she lives in manchester, they have brunch every time she's in town. gemma and george quickly become on-and-off relationship final bosses and the boys take his side in the divorce while the girls take hers. the girls are friendly with georgia but in my head she was honestly the breakout star of the season and is much more famous than everyone else now HOWEVER the entire cast do all meet back up at oscar and lily's wedding! gemma and yn are bridesmaids and lando is oscar's best man.

the landoyn proposal does happen one day, maybe a bit farther in the future than you might anticipate. i am insane and have written out the entire thing <3 contrary to what she said when she moved in, she has no idea and continually thwarts his plans accidentally for an entire vacation

casa was messsssssy babe. i think that before going to casa, lando really thought he just sort of had an inconvenient crush on yn that he would get over, and he quickly discovered that was not the case. all the girls were great but they weren't her. and coupled with that, his best mate was moving absolutely mad. i think carlos and emma started cracking on almost immediately and it was driving lando completely insane bc how could he not appreciate what he had with yn? it all culminated in a legitimate fight on the second to last day where oscar had to hold lando back from punching carlos <3 on the bright side though, casa was where oscar and lando genuinely became friends and accepted their mutual simpness over their girls. i've written so much of this out from lando's pov so if anyone's interested i'll post some of it

finally, in terms of the public reaction to them, i think they were all a bit surprised! the producers can edit however they want, and what the viewers see wasn't necessarily real life. but also, the islanders don't know everything that's going down. i know oscar and lily did not think they were going to win and lando and yn in particular did not expect to be fan favorites. on the other side i think charles expected he would be the most popular boy and he wasn't. he gives jax taylor vpr "i'm the number one guy in this group" to me. lando and yn watched the season for the first time together probably like 4 months after coming out of the villa, over the winter holidays. they binged the entire 60 episode season in like 3 days and then never watched it again bc it was too weird to see themselves falling in love on tv
