a lesbian's not so quick rant

I know lesbian representation in media has always suffered and we all have scars from shows that hurt us in the past and we want to see our ships interact be canon and develop well but, all that doesn't change the fact that some of you are being weird about the last episode of AAA and no amount of trying to flip people pointing that out into "people just saying lesbians are crazy and weird and just wanna see two women kiss" will change that.

you have all the right to prefer when episodes focus on your favorite characters, to want to see more sapphic interactions and all that but the show has a story to tell and that story isn't limited to a ship. and it definitely isn't limited to what YOU want to happen with said ship.

I personally am not that interested in Billy's storyline and nothing about billy in that flashback was really news to me (except the other witches showing up that was surprising and I loved it) so that made the episode not really the best for ME. and that's it, it wasn't MY thing. but I know it was necessary for the story and to people that don't know as much about his character, so I'm not gonna get online and act as if I'm entitled to whatever idea I have in my own head about what I rather see happen like some of you are.

and it's not just the entitlement it's the homophobic way you talk about billy and his boyf too. it's some people bringing up the actor's appearance when talking shit about the character. it's all weird, sometimes mean and honestly embarrassing.

also, Agatha all along is NOT a "lesbian show" it's a Marvel show with queer people in it. Agatha and Rio are ex lovers that still feel attracted to each other but have a complicated history. there's still 3 episodes left for us to learn more about their history and what happens to them. they might end up happy together, they might not. they might end up together in another series or movie, they might not. we don't know because unlike Billy who is queer and has an important relationship in the comics, Agatha doesn't really have much and what we have now is what Jac and the writers decided to give her.

Okay okay so like ik otherkin stuff has been around since at least the 90s but I also just remembered that the person who introduced me to my favorite cheap crayons + watercolor brand was a girl (12 or so) who (in 2011) had little access to internet (not unusual for our rural area then), but had seen homestuck fanart and read bits of it and for lack of better words kinned Dave Strider (literally introduced herself as Dave) and the lengths she went to explain that she kinned Dave Strider without having the terminology like....not one fucking original experience I guess, probably been people doing this since like cave paintings.
