tutor.com is the way my significant-other is paying our bills right now. He was a High School teacher for 8 years and just got so beat down that he finally quit. 

He works from home. He’s using his degree. He gets to be a one-on-one teacher for short periods of time to both HS and college students getting to edit papers, and effectively teach a subject he’s good at and that he loves. He works full time, making about what he did in his first year of teaching.

It’s a pay cut, but he gets to work in his boxers and while it’s not perfect - it’s out from underneath corrupt, petty, administration and teaching to the test.
