i like to think that topaz could tell how. overwhelmed / conflicted. aquamarine felt right after fusing. she probably tried to check on her a few times, but aqua instantly pushed her away because “””SHE WAS MAKING HER FEEL WEIRD””” or whatever excuse she would make up…. just to look like she wasn’t heavily impacted. :p
its cute to imagine topaz, a fusion with experience, teach aquamarine some stuff about fusing and letting her try it with her because thats (probably) the only gem shes the closest to during that time. the only gem that she can trust!!!!! i mean, if she knows a few “secrets about topaz” (them fusing for other reasons that arent just “fighting” or “doing missions”) then maybe topaz knows some stuff about aqua too. which is why i definitely see them being close with eachother.
aagrgghhh!!!!! this actually reminds me of a scene in the bluebird episode, where aquamarine is just throwing herself at eyeball and trying to intiate fusion.
its so obvious there that she barely has any idea how fusion works. when she sees the topazes fuse, she thinks “oh, that seems easy!” without knowing that there is so much more to fusing than just. mushing two gems together and hoping it will work out.. she really has a lot to learn!!!!
also, when i saw this in my inbox i got so excited because it fueled my aquapaz brainworms. it literally gave me the idea to redesign this aquapaz fusion i made like??? a year ago ? ? ??? so. here is an entire drawing juuust for this ask. ^-^
