I recently tried to recreate artstyle of the wild robot's book illustrations w/ some of my gouache and watercolours.

I tried to recreate the photo below, as its probs my favorite illustration from the book

this is my recreation of it:

the text says: 'the camoflaged robot' (in reference to the chapter the illustration comes from) + i mainly chose the colours based on descriptions in the aformentioned chapter. I personally think it turned out very nicely.

To remind myself that sometimes I finish things: I made a case for my Kobo

I felted the outer cover myself but lost patience and used some scrap felt in black to line it, sewed the two together around a cardboard core and then used velcro for holding the pad and closing. It's been mostly finished for a year and a half and it took me about twenty minutes once I actually sat down with it today...
