My name is Jesse Junko Beardslee and I am a Sustainable Style Advocate, designer and seamster. I make Custom Wedding Dresses among other things. I work with a bride for about a year leading up to her Wedding Day co-designing, pattern drafting, draping, prototyping, sample making, fitting, re fitting, and the creating the actual gown. It’s a long and lovely process! I’m pictured with my sewing machine Lu, at @hectorhandmade, the Gift Shop and Gallery I co-own and conduct consultations and fittings at. This sewing machine (1930’s Singer Featherweight) has been hard a work making masks lately; But has sewn over 50 formal gowns. It was gifted to my husband‘s Great Aunt Louise. The original bill of sale was still in it! I learned how to clean and maintain it and I absolutely adore this tried and true machine! Unlike most other manufacturing, garment construction technology still relies on a human and a basic machine. The more basic the better if you ask me! 🧵 ✂️ 👰🏻 👗 . . . #meetthemaker #imadeyourclothes #imadeyourweddingdress #imadeyourmask #whomademyclothes #whomademyweddingdress #whomademymask #singerfeatherweight #weddingdressdesigner #customwesdingdress #customfashion #fashionrevolution #weddinggram #slowfashion #sustainablestyle #designer #seamster #advocate (at Hector Handmade) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_QOQOVDzT4/?igshid=phorzvj74dbb
