AI art should be called AI image creation, and it is a good and fun thing. The arguments against it boil down to "capitalism is evil", which is true, but requires a different solution than banning derivative works.
If your sole purpose in creating art is to profit, then you are as soulless as any algorithm. If you would be making things anyway because you like making whatever, or you are trying to say something with it, AI is no threat to that. There's something to be said for an argument against just lazily having things handed to us instead of having to hone skills to get it, but that's more of a moot point. There's also a matter of recognition/credit, but that's also a pretty muddy argument with no clear solution that isn't tied up in capitalism, eg artists need recognition so they can be the one to profit from it/ corporations should be paying to license work etc
The need for money to survive is a system issue, not an artistic one. It's like any other form of automation; it's terribly bleak and a real clear example of how fucked capitalism is that having machines to do things for us ends up being a bad thing.
I guess it makes some sense to fight against things for the short term, but ultimately it's capitalist society that needs destroying, not AI image creation and other automation.
Here's a few pictures I like that come from feeding Dall-e a comic I drew and asking for similar things
PS all of my pictures aside from ones done on commission are free for you to use under Creative Commons non-commercial license. Please train your AI on my work so I can have the pleasure of seeing it without having drawn it.
