Damn, forgot this blog existed… here’s what my new 70-200 Sony f/4 G OSS II lens can do in combination with my shitty Chinese star-tracker (it’s decent, just not made for 200mm), and an alyn Wallace msm V-wedge, followed by some hours in an image stacking software + lightroom. Pretty neat, actually. Mainly cause you can kinda see the horse head nebula!!

Almost worth the 7+ hours I spent in negative temperatures for three days in a row…

This is the time lapse stack featured in the previous video I posted about Lunada Bay in California's South Bay.

It's 220(ish) frames off a GoPro Hero 5 Black, stacked with a median blend applied to give the impression of a long exposure.

Because it's an image made from time lapse video stills at 1080p (1920 x 1080 resolution) it suffers in some ways, such as the fringing in the upper right where the sky meets the top of the peninsula.

*Meh*

I still think it looks cool.

Focus stacking

The stacking process – Photoshop

Organise Photos (if shot in RAW process files and covert to Jpg)

Use Adobe Bridge

Select desired photos

Select Tools > Photoshop > Load into Photoshop as Layers

Photos will open in PS as layers

Be sure to select all layers

Select Edit > Auto – Align > Select Auto u Select Edit > Auto – Blend > Stack Layers u Enjoy the results!
