Summary: You and Archie are friends ever since you were children. Archie discovers he has feelings for you but is to afraid to tell you, thinking he might risk his friendship and seeing you around other boys makes him jealous.

It was football practise and you were sitting on the bleachers, you were there because Archie loved it when you were there to mentally support him.
The boys were training their throw, it was getting a bit cold, but you didn’t mind.
Looking over at the boys who were drenched in sweet you spotted Reggie looking over at you with the biggest smile on his face, it made you giggle a bit and you continued to read your study book.
What you didn’t see was Archie looking over at Reggie and then you, it made him feel a bit jealous.
When practise ended you got up and started to walk down, you were almost downstairs when you slipped, and you were ready for impact when someone grabbed you.
You opened your eyes and saw it was Archie, “You okay, Y/N?”
Trying to get up you nodded. “You got to be more careful when it’s cold” – Archie said in the sweetest voice.
“Thank you, Archie,” – you said smiling at him “If it wasn’t for you, I would be messed up right now”.
Archie laughed at your comment, you couldn’t help but laugh too.
Before you know it, Reggie joined the two of you and pushed Archie away from you to hold you. “Are you alright Y/N, I saw you fall”
Archie just rolled his eyes and you told Reggie everything was fine.
“Maybe we can hang out?” – Reggie asked you.
Overwhelmed by his suggestion you stuttered “I… I… don’t know what to say.”
“Just say yes” – Reggie said trying to persuade you.
Archie stepped up and said, “Actually Y/N and I were already going to Pop’s today so…”
“Well I can wait” – Reggie said, “How about tomorrow, how does that sound Y/N?”
You didn’t really know what to say, you liked Reggie but not like that.
“Sure” – you said trying to sound enthusiastic.
Reggie hugged you and said, “You won’t regret this, we are going to have so much fun”
After he left Archie turned towards you, “Are you really going out with him?”
“Out? Archie it’s not a date” – you said trying to relax him.
“That’s not what he’s thinking” – Archie said trying to hide his jealousy.
“It’s not, Archie let’s just go to Pop’s okay” – you said locking your arm into his.
He sighed, and both of you left the football field.
When you arrived at Pop’s: Betty, Veronica and Jughead were already sitting in a booth when the two of you joined them.
“How was practise Archikins?” – Veronica said smiling.
“Great” – he said and then he just stared out of the window.
“Is everything alright Archie?” – Betty said looking over at Archie.
He ignored her question, and everyone just looked at you because they knew you were always at his practise.
You just shrugged your shoulders, and everyone just let his actions drift away.
Everyone was having fun except Archie, you couldn’t get a hold on what was bothering him.

The next day at school during lunch time you were sitting at a bench working on your home work when Reggie joined you.
“Hey, Y/N” – he said sitting down in front of you “Ready for tonight?”
You looked up and smiled at him.
“Look for tonight you should wear something classy”- he continued.
You frowned “Why, where are we going Reggie?” – you said confused.
“Some place special” – he said while grabbing your hand.
Archie saw Reggie holding your hand and he let his head fall.
Jughead joined Archie and knew something was wrong.
“Archie what’s up?” – Jughead said.
“Nothing” – Archie said still lowering his head.
“Come on Archie, I know you” – He said trying to get Archie to speak “What happened?”
He sighed and before he looked at Jughead he glared at you first.
“It’s Y/N”.
“What about her?” – Jughead said trying to understand.
“Reggie asked her on a date” – Archie said trying not to sound jealous.
“And…” – Jughead continued. “It bothers me” – Archie said.
“Do you like Y/N?” – Jughead said knowing where this was going.
“Of course, she’s my best friend” – Archie said making a statement.
“That wasn’t my question Archie” – Jughead said determined.
“What do you want me to say?” – Archie said slightly getting angry.
Jughead was kind of shocked by his sudden little outburst. “I think you should just be honest to yourself” – Jughead said.
Archie had enough of this ‘interrogation’ so he got up and left, leaving Jughead alone.
The bell rang, and everyone got up to get to class.
Archie was already sitting down when you entered, you sat down next to him and greeted him.
He just ignored you and you didn’t know what was going on.
“Archie is everything fine?” – you asked putting your hand on his shoulder, but he just pulled his shoulder away the minute you touched it.
Surprised by his action, you got a bit angry.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” – you said slightly raising your voice.
He kept ignoring you, so you shouted in a hushed voice “Archie”.
He turned towards you and gave you a mean stare. “What”- he shouted.
“Mr. Andrews, keep it down” – the teacher said to Archie.
Archie had enough and packed his bag and left the classroom.
“Mr. Andrews” - the teacher shouted at Archie, but he ignored it.
At the end of the day you hadn’t found a sign of Archie, so you walked home alone.
When you got home you prepared yourself to meet with Reggie.
What you didn’t know was that Reggie had invited you to a preppy party of Cheryl.
Reggie was waiting in front of your house when you walked outside.
“Ready Y/N?” – He said staring at you.
“Sure” – you said nervously.
You got in the car and asked Reggie where you were going but he wouldn’t tell you anything.
When you arrived, it was clear to you where you were.
“Cheryl” – you almost shouted “We are at her house?”
“Relax” – Reggie said, “She had invited us”
“Us?” – you said angry “You sure it wasn’t just You?”
Wanting to go home, you still decided to go in even when you hated Cheryl.
“Reggie” – Cheryl said all to happy “And Y/N” – she said not so happy. “Come in”
You walked in with an uneasy feeling this was going to end bad.
You didn’t know half the people and by your surprise Archie was here.
The minute you saw him, you stormed towards him.
“Y/N” – he said not expecting you here “What are you doing here?”
“Me, Reggie tricked me into going here” – you said annoyed “But what the hell are you doing here?”
“He’s my plus one” – Cheryl said laying her arm on his shoulder.
You rolled your eyes and turned around, leaving the two of them alone.
You stormed right passed Reggie when he stopped you “Where do you think your going?”
“Home” – you shouted at him. He just laughed in your face and you pushed his hand away.
“Not before we play a little game” – Cheryl said out of nowhere.
“Not in the mood” – you said trying to reach the door.
“I didn’t say you could leave” – Cheryl said in her bitchy tone and before you knew it Reggie pushed you upstairs where everyone was sitting in a circle.
You gave everyone in the room a mean look including Archie.
Cheryl broke the silence by telling us we were going to play truth or dare.
You thought this day couldn’t get any worse.
“I’ll start” – Reggie suddenly said. “Archie truth or dare”.
Everyone looked over at Archie and he answered “Dare”.
“I dare you to kiss Cheryl” – Reggie suddenly said.
“What” – you shouted, “This is obviously planned, isn’t it.”
Everyone just stared at you, “This was your plan all along isn’t it Cheryl.
“I don’t know what you mean Y/N” – she said faking a smile.
And before you know it Cheryl was kissing Archie, you just looked at the display almost crying.
Then you turned towards Reggie and shouted, “You did this, you lured me in this hell just to play with me” and with that statement you spilled your drink over Reggie.
“What the hell” – Reggie yelled while Cheryl was laughing.
Everyone was looking at you when you rushed over to Cheryl and gave her the biggest bitch slap you could give her.
“Y/N!” – Archie suddenly shouted.
You looked at him trying to control your tears and then you rushed down to get the hell away from here.
When you walked out you couldn’t hold it in anymore, so you just started to cry.
You felt a hand on your shoulder and you jumped.
It was Archie. “Y/N why did you do that.”
“Don’t tell me your defending her now” – you said still crying.
“I’m not… I’m not” – he said trying to calm you down.
“Did you know?” – you shouted at him “Did you know the whole time they played me?”
“No. I didn’t” – he said trying to grab you, but you wouldn’t let him.
“Why are you even crying” – he then said, “You’re the one who said yes to Reggie.”
“I thought he meant as friends, I don’t like him like that” – you said trying to control your breath.
“And I didn’t know that I would be seeing you here with Cheryl” – you said trying to blame him.
“What are you together now or what?” – you shouted at him.
“What, No Y/N I don’t love Cheryl” – he said getting angry.
“Then why did you let her kiss you” – you shouted at him.
“Because I was trying to make you jealous” – he blurted out.
You got angrier when he said that, you tried to hit him, but he stopped your action.
“Well, you did a great job, congratulations” – you said turning away from him.
“Y/N wait” – Archie said grabbing your hand.
You pushed it away and kept walking away from him.
You suddenly stopped when you heard him shout at you “I did it because I love you”.
You stood their frozen when you heard him approach you.
“I Love you” – he said soft “I was jealous because you wanted to go out with Reggie.”
“I didn’t know he meant it like that” – you shouted at him.
“I know… I know” – he said placing his head at your back.
“It was stupid” – He then said, “Jealousy got me”.
You still said nothing when he continued “I can’t live without you Y/N and I couldn’t tell you how I felt because I thought you would hate me”
“I could never hate you” – you said turning around to face Archie.
He cracked a little smile and you placed your hand against his cheek.
“Archie” – you said soft “I love you too, I should have…” you couldn’t even finish the sentence because Archie pulled you closer and pressed his lips against yours.
You followed his movement, and everything felt right.
He then pulled away and rested his head against yours.
“You were saying” – he said smiling, you giggled and pulled him again closer to kiss him again.
