IMAGINE MUSEUM
by Pantonio
Nine blocks away from the Morean Arts Center in St. Petersburg, Florida—which, it’s worth noting, is now home to a permanent collection of Dale Chihuly glass—the Imagine Museum at 19th and 1st Ave. N. is getting ready to open by the end of 2017. Funded by Trish Duggan, a glass collector who is also an artist in her own right, the new museum is devoted entirely to glass as a medium of sculpture. Anticipating plans for the first floor of the museum to be open in early 2017 for a variety of events and activities Portuguese artist Pantónio, from the islands of the Azores, wrapped the 50,000 square-foot museum building with this composition for the 2016 Shine St. Petersburg Mural Festival. Creating interwoven swarms of fish, birds, and other animals in venues around the world, these fish are a wonderful addition to the culture of a city almost completely surrounded by water. @pantonio.o @imaginemuseum @ilovetheburg
